you're welcome. I think a lot of things can be bred into dogs, like bird dogs having a thing for birds instinctively, retrievers for waterfowl liking water, a hound wanting to bay [important] ... etc. But instinctively associating gunshots as a good thing? I don't think any dog has that, it has to be done with training, and getting gun-shy a likely event if no training. I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

Here at the Wizard house nobody has the patience to brush and comb him so we keep it pretty short. The breed is also known to be smart, good watchdogs, although at the expense of being rather high maintenance and noisy. They have a lot of short-term energy but are not good for running with because they run out of steam in about five minutes, I figure due to the short legs. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

Beautiful face, a good dog. A loving companion, you are lucky. A world without dogs would be a dreadful place. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I'd say easily half in the website I check. Another large chunk are all ankle biters, mostly chihuahua (or whatever that dumb thing was that Hilton used to tote around in her purse). Nothing has really jumped out at me, until today... Maybe someday. Maybe soon =/ Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |

Evenbob Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 146 Posts: 25010 | I've had big dogs, small ones are better. Big dogs eat a lot, and drool all over the dash. They can't sit on your lap and take up too much room on the bed. My dog is 24 pounds, not too big or too small. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Different strokes. I too hate drooling dogs, but Coonhounds aren't typically droolers. I also don't sleep with pets nor can I sit still long enough to have anything on my lap. I also don't think she's "big". Ace's dog is big. Your dog is small. This is just a dog. Something I won't kill if I fall on it, something that can get in a truck by itself, something that can handle my 6 hour fishing hikes. Interview on Tuesday. Que sera sera.
