You want the doc to spend a full hour with you then be prepared to spend $600 or so for the appointment. That is how much per hour a doctor needs to generate based on a 40 hour week. It is about productivity and medical care is no different than having your car worked on, a certain amount per hour is needed.

So, damned if I do or don't. Sheesh, this getting old isn't for sissy's.

Much of my care has been out of pocket. Six hundred per hour sounds about right. It's a touch cheaper here in Az, but not much. If I see my PCP, MD. it runs about 123 per visit, if I go to the clinic I get in and out for about 64. My natural Dr. runs between 85 and 250 [ all out of pocket] depending on what I get done.
What really sucks is I pay cash for my dental. I have taken obsessive care of my teeth forever but unfortunately some meds I have been taking have caused me some dental grief. I have gotten on a casual basis with some doc's and they humorously tell me they wish they had become dentists instead of MD's. lol

The $600 is just an educated guesstimate based on what the doctor needs to make and the office needs to operate amortized over a regular work week. What would lower the cost is if we can lower the qualifications for basic stuff. If I have the flu or bronchitis I pretty much know what I have. A nurse or PA can diagnose that and write a scrip. They might only need to generate $250-300 per hour to justify their existence. Strip it down to a Walgreen's-style mini-clinic and I bet it falls to $150-175.

I have a friend who didn't have the money for xray's after wrecking his 4 wheeler, [thought he had some broken ribs] went to a chiropractor, who checked the best he could. People I used to know got their meds at the feed store. They don't give crap meds to expensive horses. [valuable info in a "TEOTWAWKI" situation] I'm close enough to Mexico, a lot of Canadians and [Americans] do the medical tourism thing this time of year.

The state, otherwise known as NYC is trying to interfere in this:

Quote:
In November last year, a newborn boy in Brooklyn was brought to his pediatrician’s office because he was being unusually fussy after feedings. The doctor discovered a cluster of lesions on the boy’s penis, then learned that during the boy’s recent circumcision ceremony, the circumciser who performed it had used his mouth to suck blood away from the incision.

Like three other babies last year, the boy had a potentially fatal herpes infection following an ancient Jewish ritual known as metzitzah b’peh, or oral suction. The administration of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg had tried to regulate the practice, over the fierce objections of ultra-Orthodox rabbis, by requiring that the circumcisers have parents sign a consent form that acknowledged their awareness of the procedure’s risks.

More than two years after the regulation was passed, however, the consent forms appear to be rarely used. Meanwhile, the number of herpes infections suspected to have been caused by the practice in New York City jumped last year.

The situation now presents a conundrum for Mayor Bill de Blasio. City health officials have advised that the ritual should never be performed, but the growing ultra-Orthodox Jewish community that cherishes it represents a crucial political constituency for Mr. de Blasio. So he pledged during his campaign to rescind the consent requirement on “Day 1” of his administration and find a solution that would be more acceptable to Orthodox leaders, while still protecting children’s health

You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

How is it that these lunatics feel no guilt about transmitting herpes to a helpless infant? Herpes might not be too terribly dangerous for adults, but for infants it can be lead to brain damage.

I don't see this as a freedom of religion issue. I see this as a "don't put your mouth on a baby's penis" issue.

NYC should definitely prosecute anyone (Jewish, Christian, Muslim, atheist) who puts his mouth on a baby's penis. End of story.

An eleven year old Canadian girl who refused to continue chemotherapy but instead opted for nutrition oriented therapy at Hippocrates Health Center in West Palm Beach, FL has died and fired employees are suing the center as discharged whistle blowers exposing the extensive lecturing in Canada but inadequate treatments being offered.

Although staff at Hippocrates often claim to be doctors it seems the doctor of nutrition degree is bogus as is the claim to be a doctor of naturopathy.

The founder of the institute emphasizing the ingestion of sprouts died in her Boston home after unwisely deciding to fight a small but smokey fire in a ventilation fan.

Do you think this guy is a fraud? http://www.renointegrativemedicalcenter.com/doctor-robert-eslinger.html

Although I have went the natural route post surgery versus chemo/radiation I am in a medical quandary and currently waiting for and appt. at the Mayo again. Regardless of the next diagnosis I feel it is beneficial to be as healthy as I can be for my body to withstand medical treatments?

I have taken many IV treatments of VIT. C combined with B-17 and glutathione with other components including other B vitamins, I have no proof of anything other than I am still here? SCC has no markers. My primary was/is unknown. If we had found a tumor [other than removed necrotic lymph nodes] my choice of treatment may have been different?

After seeing the results and studying other outcomes by many people, I am still glad I didn't go the chemo/rad route. I have something very wrong in my prostrate area but my psa looks great, also a lowering wbc. Xray's are clean and so far I haven't consented to another PET scan, that may very well change at the Mayo? My pain is out of control and have to freeze my perineum several times per day [and at night in bed] or am unable to function. I have sat on ice for 4 months now with no diagnosis.

I lost 47 pounds over 4 months either do to stress [fear] or cancer? I have put 20 back on but I know how a Shar Pei Dog feels without enough meat to fill out my skin. It has been somewhat enjoyable eating like a pig trying to fill back out but with this recent problem have been unable to exercise for about a month. I can mostly only walk until my frozen area thaws out and then I am too miserable to continue. We had company, so we heated the pool and I got in for 3 days and paddled around a bit, that was great but heating the pool is cost prohibitive as are IV treatments. I need one this week and the price has doubled since the ACA went into effect. IV bags are even hard to come by. IV vitamins have skyrocketed. Twelve days ago, I had multiple sacro epidurals trying to knock the pain down but it is hard to tell if they helped? I can sure feel where they were close to the bone. It feels like I slid off my bike seat and landed on the bar all the time, now it feels like I hit my tailbone also.

If you have any good ideas, I am all ears. I will probably edit most of this post out after a while, I don't want to leave it up for eternity. So, no quotes are appreciated.

I doubt you should be taking medical advise from me. I'd rather be a beneficiary than a mendicant.

Have you considered cryoablation of the nerves giving you pain? Yes, they may want to do it from the INside.

I see nothing wrong with your self selected treatments. They have not killed you and they may have helped. I would not refuse a PET scan at all. Heating a pool may be cost prohibitive but a smaller hot tub is not. Or go to a health club/gym/spa such as might be found inside a resort hotel or a casino. There is a hotel not far from West Palm Beach that gives its guess free use of a nearby spa ... It is usually occupied by only one or two men at the most, often totally empty but you have a dozen showers with all varieties of free goop, a very large steam room, a six person dry sauna and a ten person hot tub/whirlpool thingy. All included for the price of a cheap hotel room. And all at whatever setting you prefer since you are often the only one who will be there. Be advised: a "spa" and massage parlor mainly for women is at the same address and you do NOT want their services or their crazy prices, the other place is free and often empty.

I see no reason to try to gain weight. Eat if you are hungry. Don't eat if you are not. Eat well.

H2O2 ? Infra red/Red LED light?

Have you had an infrared scan of the area to help locate an anomaly?

Tumors are usually oxygen poor at their core. Some researchers have used a bacterium that loves oxygen poor environments to transport drugs to the interior of a tumor.

Are you sure there is a tumor? What about RSD Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. Excessive pain from a minor injury?

What about that giant coconut crab? I can tell it to let go of Ashley's toes and head toward your problem area.
