I agree, but much of this thread (and the debate in general) is based on religion. (Which is ironic, because divorce should also be illegal if you want biblical marriage laws....)

As for how practical it is, many countries have polygamy, and they find a way to tax it fairly. I agree that it sounds like a nightmare being in a contract with two or more others (one sounds like too much for me lol)….. But, it can (and is) done in various places..... Granted no countries that I would want to live in.....

Again personally I am against the concept of marriage (for me personally, not judging others). But, I am just pointing out the hypocrisy of harshly judging gay couples.....

Some women don't mind it. Some might even prefer it. Figuring if the guy is going to romp around at least it is with her girlfriends who are an extended family. I don't get it from the guy's POV. Instead of one woman nagging you about things you have 2,3, or 4. Instead of one birthday to remember you have 2,3, or 4. You want to go out for a beer, well Mormons don't but say you do, you have 2, 3, or 4 women upset with you.

The places can be rough for the women. I saw some show a guy and his wife joined as adults. He was deep undercover. A single woman with a kid asked him to "take her in" to his family. She could not survive otherwise. His wife allowed it! There is dedication.
The President is a fink.

HBO's "Big Love" (2006-2011) is pretty quick to dispel any sexual fantasies of having multiple wives. As Bill Paxton moves from bedroom to bedroom he begins ingesting Viagras and then when one wife admits to running $65,000 in credit card debt you know for certain you would not want to be a polygamist.

If EB wakes up in hell, he will have four wives.

Even though I oppose both, polygamy is more logical than gay marriage, that's for sure. And since we legalized one, we have to be consistent and legalize the other.

Polygamy is possibly more logical in "A Boy and His Dog (1975)"

I have no problem with polygamy.

If multiple consenting adults want to enter a complicated multi-way marriage contract, that is on them.

The only thing I have a problem with (which is a surprisingly controversial opinion on here) is child marriage. No marriages before 18 should be allowed period.... Nothing changes your life as much as marriage, and yet people think its okay for minors to enter into it (and that's not even getting into the creepy factor of teenagers marrying people in their 40s...) In some states you can still get married at 12, that is just creepy and wrong for so many reasons....

Nope, I don't have kids. But, if I did I surely would not approve of them getting married before 18. Really 21 would be preferable...

Darn, my response didn't work as intended. : (

I usually read them before launching, but I guess I was to busy? It was supposed to look more something like this...

Any marriage that ends in long term grievances and problems is the worst marriage regardless of whether it is straight, gay, or polygamous.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

Statistically that is most marriages.... Most marriages are (statistically) going to end up with a negative outcome for both parties.... Divorce is rampant (over 50% of marriages will end in divorce), and even many marriages that are not actively divorcing have massive issues but they are riding them out for a variety of reasons (financial stability, children, social perception, etc....)
