Why not an 18 wheeler? Lots more room for tools and real men don't care about fuel prices.

If you cared about gas prices you would never buy a van. My Toyota Sienna gets about 18 miles per gallon around town which is pretty good for a van. 23 on the highway. The vans I had in the past you're lucky if you got 12 or 13 around town. And that's empty.

Seems too messy, too cumbersome for a van to do these chores but yes, it can do a lot of the things pickups can.

The advantage of a pickup is you can stack things high, and tie down the load. But how often would you do something like that. A van has too many uses to name.
I used to fill my van for antique shows in the eighties and nineties unload and set up and then sleep in the van. It was great.

I don't get that either. Why would I ever want to go through rough or muddy terrain if I could go on smooth asphalt?

Good question, but I'll take a shot at answering.

It's a way for competitive men to compete against and defeat mother nature.

It can be a challenge, and men are often seeking a challenge.

It's fun.

It gets you out of the house and off the computer.

I carried 6ft boards on a motorcycle. Also bricks. And a TV. And a girlfriend.

In the van you can do that all at once and a lot more.

In an 18 wheeler you can carry all of that and smuggle lots of illegal immigrants.

In late October on a weekend real man go around their house checking for air leaks around windows and doors. I'm using a stick of incense and there's always leaks because this house was built in 1854 and the addition was put on in 1880. I'm thinking about moving up getting the tool that's in this video. Way more dependable than waiting for incense smoke to show me where the leaks are.

Did you get much land around it, or is your property closer to newer postage stamp sized?
