I wonder what happens to a show like that? They had 6-8 million viewers for the 5 episodes they aired. That is a lot of viewers today, but not as many as CBS would like for thursday at 9:30 pm. They showed the remaining 8 episodes in Australia. Will CBS make those episodes available online? |

They should put them up for auction and have a small cable network take over, with a smaller budget I remember back in the day Get Smart, which I loved, switched networks Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

These shows do not have bad ratings. But CBS was getting 14-16 million for that time slots Thursday 9-10, for many years with a drama ,Person of Interest. The lead in from TBBT made a strong start. They moved POI to Tuesday at 10PM, and they keep putting comedies in that slot, The Crazy Ones, Bad Teacher, Two and a Half Men (finale season),The McCarthys,The Odd Couple, Mom, The Big Bang Theory Reruns, 2 Broke Girls, and Angel from Hell. So they keep cancelling these shows or moving them somewhere else. But no sitcoms besides TBBT generate 14 million viewers. So the shows are frequently the highest rated shows to get cancelled. It's like networks have lost perspective about how many people watch broadcast. Poor Robin Williams! You would think that moving the show to another time slot would make more sense than just cancelling it. |

Amazing that getting 1 in 20 Americans to watch is now a hit. The President is a fink. |

There were shows in the 60's that got 30 mil viewers a week. On cable if you get 4 mil it's considered a hit show. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

NBC aired a sitcom in 2002 called "Leap of Faith" which is one of the most viewed tv shows of all time to get cancelled. NBC decided they could make attract more viewers showing reruns of Friends. NBC Thursday night schedule 2001-2002 season 8:00 Friends (#1/24.5 million) 8:30 Inside Schwartz (#15/15.1 million) 9 episodes | Leap of Faith (#12/16.5 million) 6 episodes| Friends (repeats) (#8/18.6 million) 9:00 Will & Grace (#9/17.3 million) 9:30 Just Shoot Me (#20/14.4 million) 10:00 ER (#3/22.1 million) Leap of Faith epsiodes Episode 1: Detours (2/28/02) - Viewers: 20.8 million viewers Episode 2: Whole In One (3/07/02) - Viewers: 18.7 million Episode 3: The Balls Game (3/14/02) - Viewers: 15.2 million Episode 4: Peeps (3/21/02) - Viewers: 15.2 million Episode 5: The Baby Snugglers (3/28/02) - Viewers: 14.6 million Episode 6: Carmic Behavior (4/04/02) - Viewers: 14.6 million NBC's last Sitcoms to make it to syndication (both getting as low as 2.5 million viewers) 1) Parks and Recreation starring Amy Poehler April 9, 2009 – February 24, 2015 (125 episodes) 2) Community starring Joel McHale September 17, 2009 – June 2, 2015 (97 episodes) Tina Fey was probably glad that NBC sold "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" to Netflix. Can you imagine a sitcom attracting over 20 million viewers today? Empire peaked at 17.62 million viewers and it is the biggest thing to hit TV. |

I am an outlier I know, but when the lists are posted in this thread usually I have not even heard of them. "Friends" is probably the last sitcom I made time to tune in to, or at the end DVR. I think I watched 2 episodes of "Joey." By that point I don't know what happened. I was at an age in life where I just did not give much time to getting to know a new show and did not reserve evenings to watch them. I watched "The Office" on Netflix. To wait for next week's episode? Can't be bothered. The President is a fink. |

The trailer looks OK, but the acting in these types of shows is usually awful because the stories are kind of silly. We'll see. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Actually CBS is the only network not introducing a time travel TV series this year NBC Timeless, ABC Time After Time, CW Frequency FOX Making History ARQ, Netflix movie Time Travel has been a staple of movies now for some time, and has appeared on individual episodes of many sci-fi series. But it has really been central to some British and Canadian TV series , but I can't remember it being the central theme of American TV series since Time Tunnel in the 1960s. Time Tunnel began the same month that Star Trek did, but they only made 30 episodes for one year . On the last episode broadcast on April 7, 1967 they concluded the series with a return to the deck of Titanic, which was the subject of the pilot episode. The 'Next Week' coming attractions trailer was a scenes from the pilot episode leaving the viewers with essentially an endless time-loop. |
