In the video, what he does with the
curved foil reflector is what I did.
Mine is bigger and my router has
no outer antenna.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

I've got some sort of wireless connection from my Cable to my Computer... is there any way to test that I'm on MY wireless network rather than some stray but stronger signal?

Are you talking about a USB to serial converter like the one below?

Or do you mean an Ethernet to USB port dongle .

Most modems and computers have ethernet ports.

so how come I score high on the speed test but everytime I use youtube it goes real slow and whenever I use Amazon, it tells me my bandwidth is so low I should get lost 'cause I stream slower than molasses.

Ethernet to USB dongle. I think because the laptop is so thin, they didn't bother with a Ethernet port.

I use an Ethernet cable on my desktop, because it's not going to move until I replace it. For the laptop I still use WiFi because I seldom make use of it (damn, I still need to switch it on so it will do the Win10 upgrades...)

Son of a gun, you are correct.

We just bought a new Dell Laptop in October 2016 500 GB hard disk,CD drive, and it has a following ports
  1. Network (ethernet) port,
  2. Media (Secure Digital - SD) card reader,
  3. HDMI port,
  4. Power adapter port,
  5. USB 2.0 port,
  6. USB 2.0 port,
  7. USB 3.0 port,
  8. Headset/speakers port (3 mm ).

It was only $275 because it has an older processor (AMD A8). Given the price, I assumed all of those ports were standard.

Another computer that is about two years old that was less than $200 has the following ports
  1. Network (ethernet) port,
  2. Media (Secure Digital - SD) card reader,
  3. HDMI port,
  4. VGA port,
  5. Power adapter port,
  6. USB 2.0 port,
  7. USB 2.0 port,
  8. USB 2.0 port,
  9. USB 2.0 port,
  10. USB 3.0 port,
  11. USB 3.0 port,
  12. Headset/speakers port (3 mm ).
  13. Microphone port (3 mm ).

I had to purchase a hard drive for it.

But as I look around, I see that all of those things are now considered options on laptops in order to make them smaller and more power efficient.

The USB Type-C Specification 1.0 was finalized in August 2014 It was developed at roughly the same time as the USB 3.1 specification. MacBook Pros only have a USB Type-C interface.
