Where are these numbers coming from?

I’m not disputing them, but I have heard comedians with Netflix specials say on their podcasts that Netflix never reveals numbers.

I read the same thing, that their
numbers are a better kept
secret than the Coke recipe.

Outlander, a Starz show on Nflix.
A nurse in 1945 is thrown back
in time to 18th century Scotland.
It's been on for 6 seasons.

The pilot was outstanding. A little
slow in the back story, but really
well done overall. Great acting,
I liked all the characters, interesting
story potential. Gets a solid 90%
on RT for every season from critics
and audience.

If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Last year Netflix started revealing limited ratings data, but as they don't sell commercials they get to use their own "two minute standard".

As broadcast sells commercial time the advertisers have to rely on an independent Nielson corporation to tell them ratings.

2nd Quarter 2020 Netflix
subscribers region - average monthly - percentage of total revenue
72,904,000 United States and Canada- $13.25 -46.4%
61,483,000 Europe, Middle East, and Africa- $10.50 - 31.0%
36,068,000 Latin America - $7.44 - 12.9%
22,492,000 Asia-Pacific - $8.96 - 9.7%
192,947,000 TOTALS.

Disney said Disney+ streaming service surpassed 86.8 million subscribers as of December 2, 2020. While it rivals Netflix's domestic total, it costs less than half as much.

Amazon Prime has 142.5 million subscribers in 2020, but many are not watching videos.

Have watched three episodes of Outlander now and am
totally impressed. Somebody has gone to a lot of trouble
to make this a real quality show. The cinematography, the
costumes, the acting, are all top-notch. Even the music is
good. I hope they can keep this up for all 6 seasons.
Downton Abbey did.

There is very little gratuitous violence, and only a little
nudity. And that's with the heroine, so it's well worth it.
She is well worth seeing.

Sounds boring AF. Something for the blue-haired crowd that considers crap like “Blue Bloods” to be must see TV.

It's time travel the way Mark Twain envisioned it in "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court". Similar to Edgar Rice Burroughs vision of space travel in John Carter of Mars (Barsoom series) . There is no emphasis on the mechanics of time or space travel, the character is simply transported.

The book does go well beyond the normal middle aged woman's Scottish fantasy to present an accurate image of what life would be like in 1743.

My wife and I have had Amazon Prime since it started. I don't know if I have ever watched a show on it. We bought it for the two day shipping.

You mean books, there are 8 of them
and counting. The series main
attribute so far is the detail they've
gone to showing Scotland in 1743.
Lots of costumed extra's, had to
cost a fortune.
