I looked at the reviews, a ton of one and two stars, not usually a good sign. I'll wait till you're done with it and see what you say,

I watched it, and enjoyed it.

A genre defying TV series is bound to be confusing and produce a lot of annoyed viewers. I spent the first 15 minutes waiting for the aliens to arrive, and then I began to think it was a religious piece.

It lacks a clear villain, although a character played by the same actor who did Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter films does the nastiest things so far. But even he seems to be motivated by some higher calling.

I don't think you would like it.

The subject matter. Watch a few, you can tell me if I was right.

Travelers will probably do very well. Familiar genre time travelling agents. Young beautiful cast. Looks good.

The trouble with time travel shows is the
stories are always so lame. They're just
like all other PC stories, only time travel
is the gimmick. There are good time
travel movies, like Back to the Future,
Star Trek IV, Somewhere in Time, Time
After Time, Peggy Sue Got Married, even
Kate and Leopold was OK. I can't think
of a single time travel TV series that
didn't suck.

The Crowne, the most expensive series yet for
Nflix. The first ep is very dull and matter of fact.
No humor, just Elizabeth getting married and
her father chain smoking and coughing himself
to death, literally. I was bored to tears, there
wasn't even any grand halls to gawk at like
on Downton Abby. Just a bunch of stick up
their arse Brit royalty, talking so I could barely
understand them, doing very dull things.
I don't know if I can force myself to watch more
of it.

A theme that ran thru the reviews was, none of
the characters on the show are likable. You don't
give a whit about any of them, why continue to
watch.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Overall, I liked 'The Crown'. It took me a while to get past Doctor Who (Matt Smith) playing Prince Phillip, and he appears in one of the first scenes. John Lithgow does a good job as Churchill, especially in the later episodes as he really shows how he succumbed to advancing age. The recreation of the 1950's postwar Britain is masterful. It seems to be an interesting study on how Elizabeth had to adjust to having to become the queen. Did she really have no idea as to how sick her father really was? It's worth going through all 10 episodes, but I don't see how they can continue. Does her 60+ year reign really have enough drama?

I've decided I'll go back on Netflix when they get the third season of Rick and Morty. It's yet to debut in Adult Swim, so I'm guessing it will be a while.
