I think the second season of Stranger Things is considerably better than the first.

I never made it halfway thru the first ep
of season one, it must be better, how can
it be worse.

Stranger Things is not like La La Land; not surprised at your disappointment.

I hated Close Encounters and walked out
on ET. I still have no idea how ET ends,
I fantasize that they killed him and cooked
him of the grill and ate him. Close
Encounters was all downhill after he
destroyed his house building a replica
of the mountain in the living room. I
wanted to hurt myself and others when
it was over.

Saw ET because everyone was seeing it. Never watched it again. For years they tried to "protect" the franchise, after it was out on VHS they set a limit date after which retailers were supposed to send back unsold copies. They would not license it to HBO.

Even the blatant product placement for Eggos is supposed to be a flashback for the blatant product placement of Reese's pieces.

They didn't call it product placement in the 1950's. They just hung up a sign.

I had a visceral reaction to ET, I was
noisy about it as I left the theater.
That was in Santa Barbara when I
got free tickets to every theater
in town because I owned a bar
frequented by the manager of
all the theaters. I walked out on
a lot of movies in those days, I
cursed at the screen of ET.

I saw a little of it on Nflix and still
can't watch it.

It seems like a very strong reaction to a movie which is basically a sci fi "Lassie come Home".

I was pissed at Spielberg for making
such childish claptrap nonsense. I
expected more from him then. I
expect nothing from him now and
he usually delivers.

I am really loving this second season of Stranger Things. I really liked the first one as well.
