I haven't read any since the mid 60's and I probably read everything he had written to then. "but if you make yourselves sheep, the wolves will eat you." Benjamin Franklin |

Walter Miller was a 21 year old pilot who helped bomb the Benedictine Abbey at Monte Cassino during World War II. The bombing was very traumatic for him, and inspired him to write his book while in his 30's. |

Yeah, It's 'A Canticle for Leibowitz.' I got it in 1961 as a member of the SF Book of the Month club. I'm sure I'm wrong as you will point out. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Dalex64 Member since: Mar 8, 2014 Threads: 3 Posts: 3687 | If you are right this time, was your last assertion wrong, will your next assertion be wrong, or both? I am almost always disappointed by movie adaptations of books. The Hunt for Red October was a happy exception. I'm trying to think of a fantasty book, to add a genera or sub-genera to the discussion. The first one to come to mind is a book I recently handed to my son to read, The Dragonriders of Pern. For murder mysteries, I'd like to see some of the Deborah Crombie books with Inspector Kincaid. I've heard about that one over the years. What is it about? Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |
