It looks like "Furious #7" is destined to be at reach the 4th highest worldwide revenue of any film. Critics are upbeat about this film. It may not have a lofty goal, but it is good entertainment.

Paul Blart Mall Cop #2 has the relatively rare distinction in Rotten Tomatoes of having no positive reviews yet (out of 41). While it is unlikely to surpass the first film, it looks like it will generate a third. Kevin James seems to be raking in the dough, despite his movie being almost universally panned by critics as trite, unfunny, and stale.

trite, unfunny, and stale.

That also describes many modern movie
goers who can't tell when they're watching
a bad movie.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Critics get their tickets free and eat caviar; Movie goers buy their tickets and eat peanuts and popcorn. Trite, unfunny and stale sells.
Casablanca didn't make money until it became a cult film, it became a cult film because someone started saying it was a cult film.

That anti pot movie made lots of money only after its copyright expired and college kids started making prints and showing it.

Flashdance was such a dog, the producers sold half the profits just prior to release for peanuts.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers was made on a set instead of on location because they knew the movie wasn't worth the investment, it raked in millions!

Predict financial success.... good luck.
