Well, how do you feel about young children mining the materials for those EV batteries? That is the point of the post.
I guess they should have stuck with wind.

That shows you what can happen with unregulated businesses and corporate greed.

OPINION: Can we wean Elon Musk off government support already?

Everybody forgets what a crony capitalist the guy is.

The good news for Tesla haters is that the $7,500 federal tax credit is temporary. It expires when an automaker sells 200,000 EVs.

Tesla has less than a year left. Their cumulative U.S. sales through 12/31/16 was 112,135 vehicles, and for the first half of 2017, they sold 23,245 vehicles, for a grand total of 135,380 deliveries in the U.S. The company claims they'll be cranking out 20,000 Model 3's per month by January 2018 (I'm skeptical) but the point is that the $7,500 tax rebate will be gone by March or April 2018, if not earlier.

I don't think I have an EV battery
of course out of all the products I consume, child labor overseas may be involved
How do I feel?
I don't really feel anything.
How do you feel?

I didn't ask if you had an EV. I am asking how you feel that the EVs that the liberal politicians are pushing get their materials like this.

I feel it is the same as diamonds. A status symbol with a dark chain of supply.

I dont feel anything
I am sure something i use , a small part comes from a dark supply
I still feel nothing
How should i feel?
How do you feel?
Are you upset that something you use may come from a dark supply?

I own some gold bullion direct from China. Gold 1 ounce panda coins
Who knows, gold could be mined by prisoners or children. I feel nothing. If you owned my gold, how would you feel?

Alright. I get it. I'll just file this for future reference.

It's an awful problem. But the problem isn't unique to electric vehicles. That battery in your smartphone and laptop contains cobalt, most of it from the Congo. Apple, Dell, HP, Huawei, Lenovo, LG, Microsoft, Samsung, Sony, and Vodafone have all been accused of benefitting from child labor in the Congo.

FYI, Tesla's cobalt isn't mined in the Congo, it's mined in the Phillipines. If all goes as planned, Tesla will eventually be sourcing their cobalt from mines in Canada's Northwest Territory.

I feel it is the latest in luxury items whose supply chain the customer wants to forget. Like conflict diamonds. DeBeers got on top of that one when it sensed diamonds would be the new fur.

I feel it shows I am right when I point out the damage EVs actually do vs the image they are sold as.

Kids might be starving otherwise, but don't tell me how great EVs are for the environment or anything else for that matter.
