I remember a nun in grade school told us what her followers were allowed to have with their vow of poverty. I forget the exacts but it would make a western nun appear to be living like a Hollywood star by comparrison. A year and a half lead time to the ceremony? Perhaps the Padre can use this to educate us on the process? IIRC to be a saint you must have had some kind of "vision" that was a communication from God and without that doesn't matter how good you led your life. Or do I misunderstand that part? The President is a fink. |

She could be bought. https://howgoodisthat.wordpress.com/2008/07/13/charles-keating-gave-other-peoples-money-to-mother-teresa/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Mother_Teresa Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

Evenbob Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 146 Posts: 25010 | Sigh. Research that goes back decades shows she was mostly a fraud. "According to those who’ve volunteered there, Mother Teresa’s missions are squalid cesspits run along violent, authoritarian lines. There are reports of unruly children being tied to beds and beaten, of outdated equipment not being replaced, and of needles being reused in countries with high HIV infection rates (such as Haiti) until they were so blunt they caused pain. All of this wrapped up in a culture of unquestioning obedience, secrecy, and control that is said to resemble a cult." She was a snob and clung to her rich friends. Only 7% of the money donated to her found it's way into charity. She had a twisted view of reality, she felt the more we suffer in this life, even children, the more holy we are when they die. Except her, of course, who slept in her rich friends house every night. 'Mother Teresa saw beauty in the downtrodden's suffering and was far more willing to pray for them than provide practical medical care.' There is tons of info on her out there, the best is done by the University of Montreal. It's been the PR event of the century, the Vatican trying to spin all the bad press on her into a positive light. She deserves sainthood about as much as Pol Pot does. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/04/mother-teresa-myth_n_2805697.html If you take a risk, you may lose. I've asked many times for you to quote your sources and you still refuse. If you are embarrassed by them you shouldn't use their twisted and false information. I also think for your credibility and so I can at least pretend to take you seriously you should retract your last line about Pol Pot. Finally, all this is a little premature as the Vatican denies the date is set. While it makes sense to cannonize her in the upcoming Year of Mercy, it is not a given. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

You never asked for sources, I would have given them. There are hundreds. MT has been on my radar for 30 years, don't tell me her being a fraud in news to you. Start here: http://www.rcinet.ca/en/2013/05/07/canadian-study-mother-teresa-not-so-saintly/ http://www.mukto-mona.com/Articles/mother_teresa/sanal_ed.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Mother_Teresa#Criticism_from_the_media http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Mother_Teresa#Quality_of_medical_care There are many scathing testimonies from people who worked with her. Like this one: http://arcticbeacon.com/articles/6-Jun-2007.html There is so much more, it's mind boggling. She was a fairy tale that everybody wanted to believe in. She was a cash cow for the Church, and the angel of death for people she was supposed to be helping. I didn't even post any links from her greatest detractors, like Christofer Hichens, who was onto her scam 35 years ago. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Maybe it would suffice for me to link to just one source, the official site of the Nobel Peace Prize Mother Teresa “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

It really is sad that she's up for sainthood. Have you really not heard any of this about her? It's been around for decades, like the stink of fish you can't get out of your house when you fried Halibut for dinner.
And I could link to the Peace Prize that Obama won, for doing absolutely NOTHING. Kinda shows how much the ol prize is worth, doesn't it. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
