It's from the 14th century. 'Doornails are the large-headed studs that were used in earlier times for strength and more recently as decoration.' If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

You didn't learn that in seminary. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Not really. It was later in really thinking and praying over the idea of atheism that I realized how empty it was and devoid of not only evidence, but logic and coherent thought as well. For what it's worth our discussions here have helped as well. I don't mean that as a slight. You are found of reminding me that atheism is nothing. Many on the forum seem content with this and just accept atheism blindly and accuse anyone who questions it as circular reasoning or a slew of other logical fallacies. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

YES!!! Progress!! It's empty and devoid because there is nothing to fill it with. How can there be coherent thought about nothing? I said before, the only way an atheist can discuss god is in reference to religion. Otherwise there's nothing to discuss. It's like talking about the vacuum of space. The only way is to discuss what's in the vacuum sometimes, stars and planets. The vacuum of space is nothing, just like god. Standing on it's own, how do you discuss nothing, without context. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I don't think FrG is bigoted now. He's just realizing it's not possible to be logical and coherent when trying to explain the non existence of something. Atheists can only coherently discuss god when it's done in the framework of religion. When someone takes the positive side of the argument, and we take the negative side. When I discuss atheism with my friend the ex priest, it's always in the context of religion. There would be nothing to talk about otherwise, how do you discuss something that isn't real. "I don't believe a god exists." "Me neither." End of conversation. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Why doesn't the Church just admit it can't win and leave the Gays alone. Let nature take it's natural course.
