‘Overwhelmed’ postal worker arrested after 17,000 pieces of undelivered mail found.

So it was not a total joke when Newman kept the mail in storage. But why do these workers not throw it away, or smarter yet shred or burn it?

The official position of the post office is that their primary customers are bulk mailers and the post office takes a dim view of carriers not delivering it.

I think thepost office is an anachronism. Future business ventures will be elderly checks and meals on wheels type stuff.

This is Face's new job with the PO,
it's why he never posts anymore.

If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Mail delivered by missile was successfully attempted in 1959, when a Navy submarine—the USS Barbero—sent 3,000 letters, all addressed to political figures like President Dwight D. Eisenhower, using only a rocket. The nuclear warhead was taken out and replaced with mail containers, and the missile was launched toward the Naval Auxiliary Air Station.

The mail was successfully delivered, and Postmaster General Arthur E. Summerfield was so excited by the “historic significance” of mail delivery via instruments of war that he predicted it would become commonplace by the next century. “Mail will be delivered within hours from New York to California, to Britain, to India or Australia by guided missiles,” he said. “We stand on the threshold of rocket mail.”

Maybe he is busy celebrating Bezos opening up an Amazon fulfillment center in New York?

U.S. Postal Service loss triples, even as package deliveries rise.

Seems Trump once again is correct.

I don't know about the rest of you but I haven't mailed a letter or sent a package by USPS in over five years. My few package shipments go by UPS.

I sell an item on eBay about once a month and use the flat rate boxes. Easy as I live less than a 4 minute walk from a PO and before that worked in a building that had one. Have to send in taxes, car reg, etc. plus the stray one-off bill. But thanks to bill pay online I am down maybe 95% from 2005.
