I'm sorry you had such a traumatic experience and example of poor examples of Christ and very inadequate teachings.

There were no good examples! Nobody, and
I mean nobody, talked about sex in the 50's.
They didn't teach it in schools, they didn't
teach in church, it wasn't discussed. When
the Kinsey Report came out, people were
shocked. When Playboy started in 1955,
you would think it had pics of people having
intercourse. It didn't even show pubic hair
till the end of the 60's. People were obsessed
with sex, obsessed with nobody seeing it
or talking about it.

I didn't have a traumatic experience, I had the
same experience everybody else had. Little
Catholic girls really were not allowed to wear
patent leather shoes because boys might be
able to see up their dresses. Nobody could
utter the word pregnant on TV because it
involves intercourse to get there. Husbands
and wives slept in separate beds because
we all knew what two people did in bed.

It was an insane and obsessive time. What
we see now is not obsession at all, it's
acceptance of people's sexuality. How can
that possibly be a bad thing, unless, of
course your the sex obsessed Church.

Quote:
Like any precious gift it is meant to be treated as such.

Sex is not a gift, good grief. It's a natural
function of our bodies. If you treat is as
such, you have a chance at a normal sex
life. It's when treat it as more than it is,
like the obsessed Church does, that's
when it gets all screwed up.

Quote:
Like anal sex or sex with multiple people at the same time or orgies or sex with family members or cougars, MILFs, mature on young sex. These are the symptoms or sexual obsessions and sexual problems. They are unusual and unnatural - are you trying to defend them and say they are perfectly fine?

There are still people obsessed with sex,
outside of Catholics, that is. But there are
far less now than in the past. They had
movies censors right up till the mid 60's
that had a hundred things you couldn't
say or do sexually in a movie. Censorship
is the result of obsession. I personally
don't care what people do as long as
they're consenting adults. It's none of
my business.

Many people go without wives as do many women without husbands, sometimes by choice, others by chance, or some by necessity. The human body is more than capable of handling these situations. It is really strange to have to go into detail, but there are such things as nocturnal emissions. Celibacy is a spiritual discipline that is blessing to those who are called to it. It is not unhealthy physically or spiritually. Maybe in our sex crazed and undisciplined lives such things seem hard to understand and lead to your ridicule and disbelief, but this reinforces the example and witness of celibacy for the Kingdom is needed.
There was no ridicule intended.

The first part of my sentence that you quoted said exactly that.
The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW

And yet, blessing that it is, celibacy is the
main reason priests quit the priesthood.
Yes I have links that prove that, but all
you'll do is ignore them or say they're
lies, what's the point. There is a movement
inside the Church even now to get rid
of the 'blessing' of celibacy. Some even
say it's a form of violence against those
in the priesthood.

No more so than monogamy is a form of violence to married couples.

I am fine, by the way with married priests. It could easily be offered as an optional thing in the priesthood. It has Biblical roots and could help with vocations.
