Have you heard of this one: "a deity weighed in the balance is always found wanting"?

That's not the original, of course. But it makes more sense my way.

First time I heard the line, and I remember it as "Dine with the Devil" it was delivered by Jack Palance.

You have to love Hollywood. Here was Angelina Jolie starting out in straight to video sequels to Claude Van Damme movies, and within a decade she is American royalty.

She is still good friends with her ex-husband, Johnny Miller, who is now on CBS Elementary.

It was actually a very popular expression in 1990-91 in regards to past Western support for Iraq during the Iran-Iraq War. The purpose back then was to prove hindsight is 20/20.

In it's oldest version it is known to be about 650 years old
"He who sups with the Devil should have a long spoon".

That would make it much older than relative newcomers like "To kick the bucket" which only is known to be 240 years old.

Pecunia non olet ("money does not stink") is said to be about 2000 years old.

How old is this one? "Jesus doesn't exist even if you think he loves you."
