Somewhat related, Uber's local rival, Cabify, is offering helicopter rides to the airport, MEX, twice a day, for the low, low price of $95 US.

It's not outrageously expensive if you must catch a flight, are running late, traffic is bad (a good bet), and you're near the one staging area (in the Polanco neighborhood, which is known for terrible traffic). Luggage is limited to 10 kilos, but you can purchase a bigger allowance. The trip supposedly takes ten minutes. Flights will depart even if there is only one passenger. And naturally when you arrange for the chopper, you can also hire Cabify to get you there.

But.

No idea where they land at the airport. I don't think they'll land at the airport, but rather nearby. How far from the terminals? How long to get to the terminals? In T1, the walk from domestic departures to international ones is almost a mile long.

I expect if it lasts long enough someone at the office will eventually use it.

Are you expected to tip an Uber driver? I've always known it was expected with regular taxis but not sure about Uber. Took half a dozen Ubers in LA & Toronto last money and hoping I didn't offend by not tipping.

IIRC no exchange of money allowed at all in the car.

In other news, I see the automated Uber cars so much they are barely worth noticing, though do think they are further out than Uber thinks they are.

My understanding is no
Its a cashless model
I have to imagine tip jars at pizza joints and similar places are not getting as much money as in the past
I often threw the change into a tip jar at a pizza joint if they had one out.
Using a card, no change.

That is not true. No exchange of cash for the fare is allowed. Uber drivers may accept cash tips. I have used Uber about 50 times now and have tipped twice when the driver did me a favor. One time I had a horrible headache and asked them to stop at a convenience store so I could run in and get some Tylenol and a drink. That trip I tipped him $5 even though it was only a short ride and that stop only lasted about two minutes.

Like I said, IIRC. Only used them once so far. Tempted to use them just to try the self-driving ones.

Uber drivers are delivering food
Not sure how it works
I stopped by the popular California Tacos stand in Tampa recently
2 uber drivers were in line to pickup and deliver food.

I was reading that cash is more common in
an Uber car than we think. If you call for
a car, your card isn't charged until the driver
hits the start button on his app when you
get in the car. More and more minorities
know about this and will use a CC with no
credit left on it and offer a driver cash if he
doesn't start the ride with his app. It's
a win/win, the driver gets cash and the
rider pays less than he would thru his
CC. I imagine if you did this a lot Uber
would cancel your rider account, though.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Non-minorities can't figure this out?
