It probably doesn't need a lot of white light to navigate. Might not even have high beams those are for human eyes.

The auto car should have been able to "see" the bicycle. I watched the video a few times, and I'm pretty sure if I had been driving on that road, given that there weren't any other cars and it was black out, I would have had my high beams on. I would have been able to see her further away and had time to change course or slow down.

Not positive about Tucson but many areas down here are "dark sky" community's, hence no street lights. Maybe if the had brights on, the cyclists would have seen the car coming? Just saying.

Did the car sign the ticket?
Or show it's license and registration and proof of insurance?

At you ready for autonomous stock car racing? Maybe robots as pit crew?

But then you'd need a robot audience, and a machine to watch it on TV so you don't have to. And next thing you know, you end up with an Electric Monk ;)

I recently got ripped off for a couple bucks by a Taxi in Atlantic City.

AC is very unfriendly to Uber Drivers, and it's very difficult to use them there. They do not like picking you up near the casino, and they will often get ticketed for doing it. So they often ask for you to meet them outside of the casino property, which I don't like doing. Plus there is usually a Taxi line at the valet stop so it's just more convenient, and the max rate is *supposed* to be $13.

I was going from Harrah's A.C. to the town over called Brigantine, which is super close, less than a 10 minute ride. After we started moving, I noticed his meter wasn't on and asked why. He said the meter was only for A.C., not Brigantine (which I doubt). I asked how much it would be and he said around $12. Then when he dropped us off, he said it was $18. It was 3AM and I was tired and I'm not going to protest over a $5-$6 discrepancy. I am sure most of these scumbag drivers know that most people won't.

It's no wonder Uber is killing Taxi's. They will be their own undoing.

Mex City cabs can't pick up passengers in Mexico State. Therefore when they drop someone at Mex State, they can charge double for the portion outside the city, seeing as how they have to get back without being able to pick up more passengers.

This is very sensible, but the meters don't work this way. So usually the cabbie will tell you "it will be double what the meter says." Some people simply take a cab to the city limits, and then another to their destination. Once only did I get a driver who told me he'd reset the meter at the city limits, write down the amount to that point, and double the second amount.

I get this, but Brigantine is really only different from A.C. by name sort of like Vegas/Henderson but closer ... the AC Marina Casinos are about 1 mile from Brigantine Beach.

I've taken a lot of cabs in AC and that was certainly not an $18 ride. And his meter wasn't on at all. He was spitballing the price.

I'm only telling you how things work here. the "city limits" is a sign on the road. Lots of streets begin in the city and end outside it. By one such sign, part of a Walmart is in the city and part isn't. I wonder how property taxes work ;)
