Night Shyamalan was the writer and director of The Sixth Sense (his first wide release film), which was second in boxoffice only to "Star Wars: Episode I" in 1999. Nearly everything he has done since then has been anticlimactic (or horrible). The Visit is a small budget film with no stars, but it is doing fantastic at the box office and is a positive comeback for MNS.

I loved SS. I didn't like Unbreakable or The Village since they seemed like poor cousins to SS. Signs was just ponderous, and The Happening was stupid. I didn't see After Earth since the reviews were terrifying. |

When it finally was, I said 'really?', are you kidding me? It's like a movie where at the end it was a dream. What's the point. I was very disappointed at the ending of Wiz of Oz. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

It was a little like Sixth Sense in that it seemed to drag, then, suddenly, everything changed, and you want to see it again. Ignorance is bliss and knowledge is power. But having only some facts can get you into trouble! |

Whatever you do, avoid "The Last Airbender". While I found "The Sixth Sense" entertaining, I have not forgiven him for ruining an excellent three season animated Nickelodeon series. If I ever see him in person, I am going to ask him for my money back for that stinker. |

With a Production Budget of $150 million , Domestic boxoffice of $132M and Foreign boxoffice of $188M it would seem that film was not profitable (albeit not a terrible disaster). But M Knight just signed a contract to make not one, but TWO sequels. It must have sold really well on DVDs. |
