I can claim that the source of hatred and violence is to think of oneself as the source of morality. To do what you want without care for others is the problem. This mentality is rejected by religion and not atheism.

Why would you say this? Hasn't it been shown over and over that atheism leads to this senseless hatred and violence?

"Religious apologists, particularly those of the Christian variety, are big fans of what I have dubbed, the atheist atrocities fallacy. Christians commonly employ this fallacy to shield their egos from the harsh reality of the brutality of their own religion, by utilizing a most absurd form of the tu quoque (“you too”) fallacy, mingled with numerous other logical fallacies and historical inaccuracies... Should an atheist present a believer with the crimes committed by the Holy See of the Inquisition(s), the Crusaders and other faith-wielding misanthropes, they will often hear the reply; “Well, what about Stalin, Pol Pot and Hitler? They were atheists, and they killed millions!”

Often we are the source. Or our secular parents
were, or a false belief in god was, or society
has taught us to believe and act in a certain
way. But it all came from us at the start, not
from outside us.

Nope, we don't make these moral rules up ourselves. Just like you can't change them for yourself. Can you imagine a person or society that makes it virtuous to lie? Of course not, these rules did not find their start with us, but with God.

You can't point to a shred of evidence we don't
make them up, so your statement has no relevance.

You don't make them up because you can't change them and you feel bad when you break them or good when you follow them. If you or we made them up we could change them and we would wouldn't have such responses to how our actions correspond to the moral law.

By the way God's existence can be only deduced by reason alone.

Then why haven't you done it yet.

In other words, don't think for yourself,
all the thinking has been done for you. Just
shut up and obey.
