And if so, who or what created god?

I'm beginning to think that the difference between contingent and non-contingent is not as obvious as I thought.

The nature of God is that God has the reason for its being in itself and is not dependent or contingent on anything else. God is outside of time, space, and matter. Your question amounts to something like, "who is the bachelor married to?"

As pew once said you are by far the most religious guy on the forum with statements like that.

What does it have to do with religion. An
elm tree rebirths itself into infinity, is that
religious too? Do you even know what
religious means?

Did you watch the video? I know you
didn't, you have no interest in learning
anything outside your closed in sphere.

No, it is quite obvious.

The assumption that the universe is contingent, however, is far from evident.

Yeah your right, I meant religious in a bad sense. I should have used crazy.

Then the Hindus are crazy too, and many
many others who believe the universe
been here forever. Why don't you write
them and break the news..

Christianity is best understood as a fire
sale. Better hurry, this offer only lasts
a short while, there's an expiration date,
don't be sorry and miss out. If you act
now reward is guaranteed forever and
punishment for not acting on this is
eternal punishment. Christianity is a
gimmick, with a very gimmicky sales
dept. And as a priest, you are head
of sales in your dept. Too bad it's all
a fraud and you have nothing real to
sell at all.

Please don't compare anything you believe to the Hindu faith.

Also there is an expiration date for each of our lives and you will be sorry if you waste it. Live life the best you can because it is the only one you have.

The universe is not necessary and it is made up of contingent things like matter and movement. What would make someone think the universe is not contingent?

We've been through this a number of times already.

I think I will, the Hindu religion
makes a lot of sense on a lot
of levels.

At any given moment your present
incarnation is the only one you have.
That's what you're trying to say..

No I'm trying to say that if you waste this one and only life you have and are banking on getting another shot at it you are acting foolishly.
