Some 1970s issues had full nudity on the cover.

Here is a link to the cover of the January 1976 issue (do not click if easily offended or you're FrG) that I found in the trash per my earlier story. It feature topless nudity so I am giving a link rather than hot-linking it.

There is an antique store in Boulder City that has stacks and stacks of old Playboys. Practically a whole room in the back devoted to them.

I was wondering how the internet impacted the " BLOCK " stores. Last trip I found out w 36th Ave, which had 5 and 10,movie theater, and
little shops is now The Avenue, antique shops, restaurants where cheapest sandwich was $8, etc, Gee, used to be Georges book store at 36 and Roland. All nice magazines and racing form etc, but if George knew knew, you could go behind the counter and down the steps to the basement. Thats where the good stuff was.

I will bet you a beer that Playboy magazine is still in print publication as of October 2025.

Do you think the medium of magazines as we know it will even be around in 2025?

I haven't been to "the block" in at least 15 years. It was several very seedy strip clubs throughout my Baltimore years in the 90s. It has always been suspected they were fronts for more illicit businesses but that has been hard to prove.

I think they will be. I'd bet total magazine circulation is down by 25% to 50% by then.

And yet they built the Baltimore police station a few blocks away. Always a safe place to be though. Always undercover cops all around. My uncle was Commander of North West district. Said there was never any effort to clamp down on the block. Easier to watch for crooked activity there then spread all over the city.
Henry Gordon wanted to move his pool room from Liberty Heights to above the 2 Oclock Club. Went to transfer his licenses for the tables and was told had to get approval from zoning. Got approached for $5,000 from a politician to ensure approval. He refused. Request was denied. And this is why.
The board decided that a pool room in that location would be detrimental to the neighborhood.

I agree 100%. On the show "The Wire" the police created a small district where there was an unspoken agreement where they wouldn't crack down on peaceful purchases or drugs. Always wondered if there was any truth to that story line.
