Unfortunately, I did screw up. I thought by booking row 1 I would be first off the plane in Atlanta. Now I know the Delta 757's exit behind row 5 or 6. Hopefully that extra five minutes will not cause me to miss my connection. Customs and Immigration in Atlanta is always unpredictable.

Anniversary of AF447 Paris de Rio that stalled due to iced pitot tubes but maintained a stalled attitude due to pilot error and crashed into ocean with extremely high vertical speed but virtually no forward speed prompts journalistic reviews that focus on the pilot being in his sleeping area rather than on the flight deck while plane was transiting the ITCZ. Big deal. It had nothing to do with the crash. Less experienced pilots take airliners thru turbulence all the time.

Tomorrow in Vegas there will be a demonstration of how to use the Boeing in-flight entertainment system to obtain deep access to the Cockpit messaging system and in-flight maintenance systems. Sure to be fun.

How do they do it?

I just booked a flight from Austin Texas to Las Vegas (2.5 hour flight) for $36 total. I love airline deregulation.

Congrats. Hope the pilot gets a lunch and the plane gets some oil.

Why should the pilot get lunch? I never eat breakfast or lunch.

I love airline deregulation.

Passenger load last month at the local airport (Near Bethlehem PA, former Sands Casino | 90 minutes to EWR)
40.4% Allegiant (up to 7 vacation destinations with 4 in Florida)
25.2% American (to 3 hubs)
22.6% Delta (to 2 hubs)
11.4% United (to 1 hub)
0.3% Charters

People complain about Allegiant Air, but without them we wouldn't even have much of an airport. They fly to up to 1050 miles, but not cross country to Vegas. Allegiant plans to base jets here in February and with Southwest pulling out of EWR maybe they will start flights to Vegas.
