On paper that's true. In reality, Gay
relationships among priests goes
back a thousand years. There were
even Gay popes. The worst was
Julius III, who created a huge scandal.
As a Cardinal, he was having an affair
with a 15 year old boy. When he became
Pope, the made his lover a Cardinal
and they shared the same bedroom and
bed.

There are many many stories about Gay
popes, straight popes who had affairs,
and even bi-sexual popes. Nothing is
new under the sun.

And people committed murder, adultery, and theft back then as well. Is there a point to what you are bringing up? Breaking a vow is breaking a vow. Choosing a gay lover is no different that having a female one in that regard.

My point is, they have always broken vows,
it's not that big a deal. The first time they
do it is probably the hardest, but it gets
massively easier from then on. As FrG has
said a hundred times, Catholic clergy are
human too, meaning we shouldn't expect
all that much out of them. I should imagine
breaking vows and being wicked is half
the fun of being a priest for some of them.
Like peeking thru a keyhole at your cousin in
the bath when you're a kid. You know it's
wrong, but you just can't help yourself.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

But it is a big deal if they do it over and over or if they go into the thing meaning not to keep the vow. FrG can correct me if I am wrong but IIRC forgiveness for sins comes only when you are sorry for doing it. Intending to break a vow is not being sorry IMHO.

Again, if a guy wants a gay lifestyle let him choose a different job.

And I am done with this thread. FrG if I was wrong about the forgiveness thing please let me know another way. I am blocking this as it has gotten redundant.

Oh, they're contrite as hell, they have to be.
And the next time, and the time after that.
Look how they moved to sex offenders from
one parish to another after they said they
were sorry. It's a racket.
