The power to resurrect people from the dead is very much alive today. I regularly see people whose lives were dead in sin rise to a new life of grace. I have seen many lives joyfully transformed by the love of Jesus Christ!

I see, so the resurrection of Jesus and all of the other resurrections in the bible were spiritual resurrections, not people being brought back to life from actual corpse in the ground death.

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ was obviously a Resurrection of the fullest sense: from death to life. There is no other explanation for the life of the Apostles, the disciples, and the fervent spread of the Gospel in the face of great persecution.

And a very old and often repeated myth it
is. Scores of people have supposedly been
resurrected as gods, Jesus is just one of many,
and certainly not any more important than
the rest.

Here are 10 of the most famous. See how many
names you recognize. Ask your average Christian
about this and he will have zero idea what you're
talking about. Just one more thing they stole from
the pagan religions.

so none of the other resurrections were real in the fullest sense, and you can tell because the stories of these other resurrections didn't survive suppression and persecution, and the stories weren't spread fervently? You certainly can't tell from the text - they don't tell you that this one was real and that one was not.

There is, as with all things in faith and any really important issue, converging evidence leading to certain credibility. Is there any verifiable human person, not a myth, besides Jesus Christ that has resurrected? I present for evidence Evenbob's ridiculous list. None of those myths are real, there is not historical evidence for any of them. They also have ridiculous and fanciful stories that you have to squint really hard through biased glasses to see much of a connection to the real historical person of Jesus Christ.

You can tell because miracles are only for the Master, not for the slaves He created.

So is it the church's position that the other resurrections documented in the bible were real, or not?

Those are all real resurrections too.

There is no evidence at all that Jesus
was anything other than a religious
blowhard with a god complex. There
have certainly been many like him
before and since. If you had any real
evidence that he was divine, you'd
be on here crowing about it every
day.

No, you have nothing other then the
scratchings in a 2000 year old book
that's nothing but hearsay and urban
legend. It's silly and contradicts itself
at every turn. That you choose to base
your life on it is your problem, some
of us think more of ourselves and choose
to think for ourselves.

The evidence is hiding in plain sight, it is implicit in your strange post. There have been many before and since and yet there is Jesus who stands alone as the most influential human being who has ever or will ever live. He has changed the lives of countless people for the better. More than can count, like myself, have a real and deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Think for a second about what you are saying in calling so many people crazy or stupid. You do think more of yourself, to the point where you yourself are replacing God - what an ego! If all you choose to base your life on is yourself then if you want to compare silliness and contradictions I will take the Bible over your life (or my life) any day and twice on Sundays.
