What is the "you" that controls the mind? Concrete answer please.

Correct answer: I haven't the faintest idea.

Your DNA replication example is a great analogy to the brain being the mind, and self and free will being illusory.

Analogies shouldn't be taken literally.

That's why I'm asking.

.

Analogies shouldn't be taken literally.
Correct. I use analogies to make a more difficult concept or thing easier to comprehend.

I think a chimp has a "you" as well.

If so, what would that mean? Or do you believe that?
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

Animals have consciousness for sure. Whether they have minds like humans I don't think so. Maybe there is a universal mind or consciousness that brains tap into or the brain is like a valve letting in bits and pieces. A chimp feels pain buy I don't think it ponders what it feels like having for supper.

Do you think consciousness has an IQ independent of the brain development?

Or is consciousness something independent of brain development.

I don't want to suggest something that isn't there, but if you look at the gorilla's laid back look just past the 1 minute mark, it almost looks like he's really following the photo montage. Much more than say a dog would.
