Which came first, the evolved rules or the randomness.

The rules come first obviously.

That is the absolute worst definition of prayer I have ever heard. It's actually kind of sick.

Because that's all there is or could be. Randomness
has results (like humans and rabbits and ducks).

It is a statistical impossibility for things like humans to exist simply by randomness.

Sorry, you can think what you want but you're wrong about this too.

In your story, yes. In reality, afraid not.

You've heard people pray all your life.
They pray for good jobs and good
spouses and good parking places.
They pray for world peace and for
their sports team to win. They pray
for rain and for good crops and
for their constipation to end. They
pray to god for control over their
lives because they feel powerless.
Praying gives them a sense of power
that they are doing something
constructive to influence the outcome
of things.

In the opinion of your religion, yes. In
reality, no.

I'm always wrong, remember? 100%
wrong about everything. A statistical
impossibility.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

You don't need to start with a human, just a simple organism which reproduces.

If you can get that in the time of the Universe, you've got a beginning.

If the organism reproduces with variation, than the variations can end up more complex than the original organism.

add millions of years and stir.

What's your process?
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

Random occurances that happen according to strict and sensitive universal constants that govern all things is kind of evidence of order in the universe.

AS I grow older, I find I talk to myself more when I need expert advice.

So: I could go through all the evidence. but the fact is I already have.

Absolutely.

It's not statistically impossible for humanity to have evolved out of the initial conditions of life on Earth and natural selection plus random events.

It's so not impossible it actually happened.

Pretty easy concept, the rules are always established before anything happens. The rules for how electrons behaved or how gravity works was established before anything could "randomly" happen.

If this was true, which it is not, it goes directly in the face of what you said earlier. You said that God was made up to feel powerful and be in control. When your head stops spinning and you decide what you really think let me know.

Praying is about connecting to God - news flash - He already knows what we need. He gives us the inspiration and help we need to work for the change in ourselves and how best to serve others.

Here is yet another thing that science and the Church agree on. In fact is there anything that we disagree on, nope. The chances of the universe coming from nothing without a cause is of course zero percent. The universe having the perfectly correct constants and natural laws in order for life to exist by random chance is also statistically zero.

You are not always wrong about everything, just about anything to do with Christianity and in particular the Catholic Church. I think it is not entirely your fault, you have been taught some outrageous things. However, your refusal to learn and to listen is your fault.

Pretty much the same thing except it is guided by God so that it can actually reasonably happen. No matter how long you have even the creation of a simple organism is near impossible much less the human person. I know you have heard the analogies before: human life coming to be by random chance and variation is like a putting a bunch of monkeys in a room with typewriters and having them accidently recreate the works of Shakespeare or the parts of a space shuttle being thrown into a tornado and a working shuttle coming out. You also need to wrestle with consciousness and reason. How do non material traits that we posses rise from simple material variations? Your process doesn't work without God.

Reminds me of a classic line, no offense intended: One who follows their own advice follows the advice of a fool.

I had a dream last night I was cast into Hell by a jealous God
The Devil walked up and said, "You don't need no lightning rod
It hardly ever rains down here, I can't recall the last storm
You ain't gonna need that leather jacket, it gets kinda warm
But there's one way in there's no way out
It looks like you're here to stay
The place is a mess, it's overcrowded, more are coming everyday"

I said, "Oh man, wait a minute there's gotta be something wrong
I ain't a bad guy, I just write these little songs
I always pay my union dues, I don't stay in the passing lane"
And he said, "What about all that whiskey and the cocaine"
I said, "Well, yeah, but that's no reason to throw me in Hell
'Cause I didn't use the cocaine to get high
I just liked the way it smelled"

He said, "Come on over here son, let me show you around
Over there's where we put the preachers, I never liked those clowns
They're always blaming me for everything wrong under the sun
It ain't that harder to do what's right, it's just maybe not as much fun
Then they walk around thinking they're better than me and you
And then they get caught in a motel room
Doing what they said not to do"

"Now the murderers and the rapists they go in this fiery lake
As well as most of the politician and the cops on the take
And all the mothers who wait till they get to K-Mart to spank their kids
And instead of showing what to do what's right
They just hit 'em for what they did
And all the daddy's who run off and abandon their daughters and sons
Oh, anybody who hurts a child is gonna burn until it's done"

"Everybody is down here", I said
"Who's up in Heaven with God and the Son"
Oh, some saints and mystics and students of metaphysics 101
People who care and share and love and try to do what's right
Beautiful old souls who read a little stories to their babies every night
What you won't find up in Heaven are
Christian Coalition Right Wing Conservatives
Country program directors and Nashville record executives

Now I said, "I've made some mistakes, but I'm not as bad as those guys
How can God do this to me or can't He sympathize
He said, "You're wrong about God being cruel and mean
Oh, God is the most loving thing that's never been seen"
I said, "Hotshot tell me this which religion is the truest"
He said, "There all about the same
Buddha was not a Christian, but Jesus woulda made a good Buddhist"

Well, I thought about my future, I didn't seem to have much of one
I looked around to leave but there was no place to run
I said, "I don't suppose I could go back and try living again
You know like reincarnation, I hear that's the way it's always been"
"I can't answer that", he said
"You're gonna have to wait for that response
But it's not any more unusual to be born twice than it is to be born once"

Well, it looked like I was gonna be stuck here as far as I could tell
I thought I might as well suck up, you know what the hell
I said you, "You know that song that Charlie Daniels did
About how you went down to Georgia and played fiddle against that kid"
He said, "Yeah it broke my heart but you know what are you gonna do
I said, "To tell you the truth
I thought your solo was the better of the two"

Well, then I woke up and I was lying in my bed
I ran upstairs and kissed my little boy on his sleeping head
I took this dream as a sign from God, so I thought I'd better pray
I said, "Don't ever speak to me directly and thanks anyway"
Now so much has changed about me
Besides me just giving up red meat
Some get spiritual, 'cause they see the light
And some, 'cause they feel the heat
Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it.
