In how many of those religions was it ok to kill someone who didn't convert?

I can't think of any off hand.

Bob, I agree society makes laws and in the measure they agree with God's law they can be considered good. But anyway, you keep saying the concept of sin isn't real yet you describe it just fine in secular terms.

Yeah, no. You have it backwards. First
came mans laws and then to make
them sound official they said they
came from some god. There is no
god, how can a nonexistent being
have laws.

I admit this would be a conundrum if there was no God. How could we expkain the universal and objective nature of certain laws and morality. Without God, or some higher authority than man made society's laws how could anyone claim to have laws that were good or true. Wouldn't anyone else's different laws be just as good or true if man was the highest authority? Boy, it sure is good there is a God or you'd be in a lot of trouble as would our world.

You love to make everything so
complicated. No god, no laws
from god. End of story.

Overthinking everything is how
the problem of religion started.

Not thinking about anything is how the problem of atheism started.

Very close to the truth. Atheists don't
look at something they don't understand
and invent supernatural answers out
of thin air. That's a waste of time that
could be spent looking for the real
reasons things are what they are.

Look at Islam 1200 years ago. They
had a civilization far advanced for
the time, they practically invented
advanced math. Then your god
came along and all that went into
the toilet, Islam has been stagnant
ever since.

Believers don't invent supernatural answers to things we don't understand. Your tilting at windmills and swinging at straw men.

You do know of course that Christianity predates Islam? Let's not blame Islamic fundamentalism and lack of critical reform on Christianity. That is really a strange idea.

Of course believers invent supernatural answers to things we don't understand. Miracles and exorcism are two modern examples.

I'm not and I didn't. I blamed it
on the worship of a god.

Muslims often don't get credit for their contributions. I hadn't considered that maybe it was the crusades that changed their advancement?
