Nuns 'abused hundreds of children' Former residents of the Catholic Nazareth order's homes say they suffered appalling, systematic cruelty. Special investigation by Barry Wood https://www.independent.co.uk/news/nuns-abused-hundreds-of-children-1171988.html I could post scores of articles about the cruelty of nuns. You would just pooh pooh them as not fitting your rosy colored view of anything connected to your awful Church. Take extremely sexually unsatisfied women and put them in charge of innocent kids in schools and orphanages, and you'll have the perfect place for them to vent their frustrations. Why are Catholic Nuns so mean? https://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/topic/199186-why-are-catholic-nuns-so-mean/ One of the questions I have is for the Catholics of the forums. Why are Nuns so mean? My grandmother, aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles cousins ect ect, were mostly raised in the Cotholic Missions on different Indian Reservations. The one thing that I have found from talking to them and from past stories they have told me before they died was the Nuns of the Catholic Missions were always mean and abusive to the children. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

FrGamble Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 67 Posts: 7596 | And I could post millions of articles and stories about the great love of nuns. You would just pooh pooh them as not fitting your distorted and prejudiced view of the Church. My only consolation with your posts lately is that you have completely changed your mind about the importance of personal testimony and witnesses to get at the truth. Now maybe you will reexamine your take on God, but I wont be holding my breath. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

There should be zero stories on the meanness and the heartlessness of nuns towards children. But the stories are almost legion there are so many of them. Sexually repressed women seem to get great delight from torturing children. Ask anybody who went to a Catholic School. They all have tons of stories of how mean the nuns were. A child in a Catholic orphanage could be put into a loving same sex family household rather than be brought up by repressed and bitter nuns. How could you possibly say that's a better choice. You don't care about what's right for the kid, you only care about your Church's political correctness. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

FrGamble Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 67 Posts: 7596 | I talk with people all the time who have nun stories and they are mostly positive and lovely. Yes, there should be zero stories of meanness and heartlessness regardless and yet here we are. It looks like your understanding of sin is improving as well. Did you not read my earlier post? The goal is not to place children in convents or same sex family households. There is no shortage of men and women in loving relationships that want to have children. Do you think it is wrong for the Church to have the freedom to place children in these homes first? “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

FrGamble Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 67 Posts: 7596 | It is not discrimination to want to place a child in a loving home with a mom and a dad before wanting to place them anywhere else. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

That's what they said to Black people in Vegas in the early 60's. It's not discrimination that no Black's are allowed to stay in Strip casinos, it's just policy. Shrug. You keep telling yourself it's not discrimination against same sex couples, maybe some day you'll actually believe it. Just like you believe the Inquisitions were 'no big deal', the Church never condoned the forced conversion of Jews. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

FrGamble Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 67 Posts: 7596 | You are not thinking right here. It is discrimination because there is no reason to deny anything to anyone based on the color of their skin. All men and women regardless of skin color are equal. There are important differences though between genders. Surely you understand that men and women provide very different and complementary gifts in the bringing up of children. If you really thought about it for a second I'm sure you will be a little embarrassed by your analogy here, i know you know better though and just got caught up in the heat of the moment. Then again I could be wrong, you might actually believe there is no difference between men and women and that gender is no more significant than skin color? Do you believe that? Do you really think I would ever say the Inquisitions were 'no big deal'? You really are maddeningly stubborn and just trolling if you do. They are a huge deal. Are they the historical myths you and Monty Python propose, absolutely not. There is a lot of room between not an anti-Catholic myth and 'no big deal'. Again I am sure you are embarrassed by the insinuation once you think about it. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

Just like there's no reason to deny Gay people adoption rights. And most places don't, they see Gay's as just valid as straight couples in the raising of a child. It's the Church with it's backward and discriminatory attitude that's the problem.
How many times have you said, oh, the Inquisitions weren't nearly as bad as historians make them out be. Then you'll excoriate me on how bad my sources about the Inquisition are. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
