Now this is the way you celebrate the Pagan
holiday of Easter. Not with candy and eggs,
but with self flagellation and nailing people
to crosses.. Gets you right into the spirit
of the weekend. Totally appropriate choice
of music.

I would've chosen Yakity Sax for the music

I visited FrG at this place of work in Baltimore last week. I don't know what I'm at liberty to share about his pastoral duties, but I enjoyed my time with him very much. In person he is often laughing and very friendly and down to earth. He serves his faith well and sets a good example.

FrG, thank you so much for your time and I hope to return the favor if you're ever in Vegas.

p.s. Note who is photo-bombing the picture.

Why, are they scandalous and disturbing?
Does he stand in front of a group and
chant superstitions and nonsense? Does
he use odd hand gestures and seem to
worship idols?

Yes, best to spare us the details..

I won't dignify that with a reply ... but I guess I just did.

My father in law is a Baptist minister,
you don't even want to know his
opinion of what I mentioned above.
There is nothing so devisive as Xtions
who read the Bible and see it two
different ways. Wish washy thing that
it is..

I was looking at this again. Still no
viable explanation from the Vatican.
Still very funny. The looks on their
faces is priceless, like they're meeting
a movie star.

They are meeting someone far more important than a movie star! The Pope was in this meeting for over an hour. He is not very traditional and does not enjoy having people kiss his ring. Have someone kiss your hand for over an hour and see how you feel?

That's what's funny, he's really not.
He's an enabler for the huge Gay
community that is the priesthood
worldwide. At least 60% of priests
worldwide are Gay, most of them
practicing Gays. Not all the time,
but anonymous surveys show they
dip in and out of it from time to
time.

I think you have this one wrong, Padre. I am guessing most people meeting the Pope have been waiting a lifetime to do so, and likely consider it a highlight of their life. If you are the one they admire (the Pope), I think the small personal SACRIFICE you should make to make this meeting as special as possible for all the worshippers far outweighs him "not liking having people kiss his ring". If you can't accommodate ring kissers, then don't be the Pope!
