For 3,200 years, Egypt contained a high order civilization which was very wealthy and grew a great deal more food than it could consume (most years). Canaan was relatively close. Of course you'll find Canaanite artifacts and influences in Egypt. There are also Mycenaean, Philistine, Hittite, Assyrian, Babylonian, Persian, Greek and Roman artifacts and influences all over Egypt at various points in its long history. If you can't make it to Mass on Sunday for any valid reason that you are under no obligation.
