From a Catholic encyclopedia, where else.

I'll just let you sit with your logic here and try again.

That will be hard to do, as I was using your logic. Or rather your premises.

If for example there were people form Cannan living in Egypt you would hope to find evidence. Thank God there is evidence in many examples of the Cannanite gods being present in Egyptian artifacts and decorations, etc.

For 3,200 years, Egypt contained a high order civilization which was very wealthy and grew a great deal more food than it could consume (most years). Canaan was relatively close. Of course you'll find Canaanite artifacts and influences in Egypt.

There are also Mycenaean, Philistine, Hittite, Assyrian, Babylonian, Persian, Greek and Roman artifacts and influences all over Egypt at various points in its long history. And we know many people from these nations lived in Egypt.

What this proves is that there was ample trade in ancient times.

FrG, you in line of the blizzard? I heard on the
news that your diocese gave permission to
members to miss mass on Sun because of the
snow. Does this make you happy?

Yes, but it is really just a clarification of Cannon Law it doesn't involve any special permissions. If you can't make it to Mass on Sunday for any valid reason that you are under no obligation. This crazy snowstorm certainly qualifies.

At least they didn't change the service time to watch a foot ball game.

Ah, if a storm prevents you from whatever it is you do in church on Sundays, that's fine.

If a crazed monarch threatens to kill you unless you violate some nonsense dietary restriction, you should die.

It's good to see where your priorities are.

One is mother nature preventing you from attending a religious service the other is someone forcing you break an important and distinctive religious law.

As I said, good to know where your priorities are: avoiding inconvenience trumps avoiding death.
