There is no mention of pews either. .

And that's why real Biblical Xtions don't
celebrate pews or Lent or AW of Mary
being divine, it's not scriptural.

I seriously have to ask if you are an atheist why does it bother you so much?

Atheists are always having to deal with
the belief systems of others. Why do
atheists bother Xtions so much? The
Church used to kill them.

"The Church started killing unbelievers as early as the 4th century. The killing (often with torture) of heretics, church splinter groups, dissenters, atheists, agnostics, deists, pagans, infidels and unbelievers was supported by almost all mainstream Christian theology for over a thousand years, starting with the intolerant St. Augustine (died 430 AD)."

Deal with in what way? Did someone drag you to an Ash service or something yesterday?

Everyone has to deal with the belief systems of others. It isn't like you are the only ones.

No, but I saw TV news people with
dirty foreheads and went wtf and
had to find out why. That's having
to 'deal' with the Dark Ages superstitions
still appearing in today's modern
world. I just got the lab results back
from my bloodwork and not a single
test they did was for anything
supernatural. When I go for the complete
physical next week, the doc won't ask
me a single supernatural question.

You know why? It doesn't exist, it can't
be shown to exist and is irrelevant to daily
life unless you purposely include it. My
doc has no interest in anything except
provable testable science.

I find it hard to believe you could make it to adulthood without having heard of Ash Wed. For crying out loud, Mari Gras is based on the lead-up to it. Have you been living under a rock all your life?

And guess what? It cannot be shown not to exist, either. You are free to have faith or not as you like. I have said my position, that being until you can prove how life rose up out of nothing then the scales tip to there being something out there. Of course, you are free to have your own opinion.

What I do not get is why you spend so much time worrying about something irrelevant to your daily life. If it were irrelevant you would not post or care about it. Much as I do not post about say basketball since I have no interest in it. A true atheist would just live their life and show up for work on December 25.

Obviously I know it, I posted here about it
last year. It always takes me by surprise
to see the dirty foreheads, I never see it
coming.

I only think about it when there is a decent
authority to speak with, like a Catholic Priest.
Do you know how rare it is to have a real
live priest talk to atheists for 2 1/2 years? It's
unheard of. Most of them are too pompous
and arrogant to give us the time of day. FrG
is a rare find so you can bet I will talk to him
about religion. Other than that, it never crosses
my mind.

Last year? Hadn't you heard of it 40 or 50 years ago?

Just check when Mardi Gras is happening.

If I did it had no meaning to me. Lent
either, I had heard of it all my life but
didn't know what it was. All the Xtions
I know are Baptists. I sent my wife an
email last night asking if any of her
sister's celebrated AW. Her answer was
"Why would they."
