I'm not very well read, but I really dig his style. And I don't think my appreciation is due to my ignorance.

King's ability to transport you into the
story is unparalleled. My brother read
The Shining during the blizzard of 78,
he was snowed in for 3 days, alone.
I can't even imagine. Nareed has no idea
what's coming once the roadblocks
against King come down.

I remember sometimes I'd read a paragraph
about nothing, just describing the surroundings,
and I'd read it again because it was so good.
Thinking 'how the hell did he do that'.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

And his plots do always revolve around the supernatural.

I already don't intend to ever read King. You don't need to warn me any further :)

Over time I've realized I find written imagery boring. I'm more interested in ideas, characterization and plot.
