Singapore is high on my list. I'd like to do another Asia trip, returning to Macau, then Singapore, and finally Thailand.

Last year Air Asia offered unlimited flights to ASEAN out of Kuala Lumpur for $148 plus airport taxes. I think there are similar offers from Hong Kong. It would be awfully tempting to include Bali with Singapore, Macau, and Bangkok.

As of this summer, these will be the longest routes on USA airlines. I assume you have done the LAX-HKG route. If you want to do it one better, then you might try the flight from SFO-SIN.

13,600 km San Francisco Intl Arpt (SFO) to Singapore, SG (SIN) United airlines begins June 1, 2016
13,582 km Atlanta -Johannesburg, Delta Air Lines
13,072 km Dallas/Fort Worth - Hong Kong,American Airlines
12,980 km Newark -Hong Kong, United Airlines
12,748 km Los Angeles -Melbourne, United Airlines
12,565 km Newark-Mumbai, United Airlines
12,500 km Chicago (ORD) to Hong Kong Intl, (HKG)
11,600 km Los Angeles Intl (LAX) to Hong Kong Intl, (HKG)

There's almost no time of year that the
humidity and heat won't drop you in
your tracks in Singapore. Even the
locals complain about it. I don't do well
in hot humid places, so I stay home.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

It seems like this new service will be more popular since instead of changing planes in Chicago and Hong Kong, now you just have to connect once in San Francisco.

Quote: United Press Release

The San Francisco - Singapore service will be the longest scheduled 787 flight operated by any airline and the longest scheduled flight operated by any U.S. carrier, at 8,446 miles.

Flight UA1 will depart San Francisco at 11:25 p.m. daily, arriving in Singapore at 6:45 a.m. two days later (all times local). The return flight, UA2, will depart Singapore's Changi Airport at 8:45 a.m. daily, arriving at San Francisco International Airport at 9:15 a.m. the same day. Flying times will be approximately 15 hours, 30 minutes eastbound and 16 hours, 20 minutes westbound.

By using the new nonstop flights between San Francisco and Singapore, customers will be able to save up to four hours' journey time each way, as compared with the current United one- stop service and competitors' schedules.

United has timed the new flights to connect at San Francisco with an extensive network of service throughout the U.S., Canada and Latin America. United and United Express jointly operate over 270 daily flights from San Francisco to 80 destinations throughout North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. With this new service, United will provide convenient one-stop service to more than 40 U.S. cities, including more than 26 cities that do not have one-stop service from Singapore today.

The Boeing 787-9 aircraft operating the new San Francisco - Singapore service will feature a total of 252 seats – 48 in United Business First and 204 in United Economy, including 88 Economy Plus seats with added legroom and increased personal space.

The times are weird on that SFO-SIN flight arriving 645am
The ORD-HKG-SIN is nice because it only stops in HKG, no plane change.
Also they arrive in the evening, get a good nights rest in a hotel, good to go for business the next morning.

So you book this flight: Purchase Price $1,108.76 economy
1:10 pm - 12:20 am (22h 10m) Stop in HKG 2h 15m ground time
6:00 am - 1:45 pm (20h 45m) Stop in HKG 1h 45m ground time

(15h 30m) eastbound as opposed to (20h 45m) delta (5h 15m)
(16h 20m) westbound as opposed to (22h 10m) delta (5h 50m)

against possibly longer flight to feeder city, and probably lower cost, but with awkward arrival time..

Probably depends on the person. Are there showers in airport?

For sure. No drugs allowed in Singapore,
you'll go to prison for bringing a joint
into the country.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.
