I thought he was afraid to visit places where he'll face protests. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

I think that is the question. He can't really skip the summits, but will he make any courtesy visits.
The 9th Summit of the Americas will probably occur in April 2021, so it may be a new POTUS. The North American Leaders Summit seems like it might be caput. So it is conceivable these two trips will be his only ones to Latin America |

If President Trump makes a yearly visit to Asia organized around the East Asia Summit (EAS) , plus the G20 in Tokyo, that would make 5 visits to Asia, 2 to Latin America, and zero to Africa that would be the most paltry number of visits outside of Europe since President Bush senior President Bush's trips outside of Europe. -- Asia --- February 23–25, 1989 Japan Tokyo Attended the funeral of Emperor Hirohito. Trump has traveled extensively all his life, it's boring and routine to him. I always suspected presidents traveled a lot because it's not on their dime and when they retire it's pretty much over. Trump could care less about traveling. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

No. Like all the trips that Trump took as a private citizen for business to EU and Asia all the time. Or the Middle East. He has properties in Turkey, Phillipines, Panama, Mumbai, S Korea, Uruguay, India, Ireland, Scotland, Dubai. He had a 757, not a Piper Cub. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

He delivered twenty-five speeches, stressing his plans to reduce American political and military interference in Latin American affairs. In sum, he pledged that the United States would act as a "good neighbor." Since then some kind of goodwill visits to Latin America have been a hallmark of every presidency.
George H. W. Bush visited 58 different countries | 26 trips Bill Clinton visited 74 different countries | 54 trips George W. Bush visited 73 different countries | 48 trips Barack Obama visited 58 different countries. | 52 trips Donald Trump visited 15 different countries. | 5 trips Putting 'America First,' Trump said to plan lighter foreign travel than predecessors 3 summit meetings in 2018-2019 in Latin America, none else are scheduled for this presidential term. No mention of good will visit has been made so far. 5 summit meetings scheduled in Asia for this presidential term. No American President can afford not to make side trips in Asia No African nation is a member of the G-20, and no summits have ever been scheduled. Although FDR and Jimmy Carter made brief Presidential stops in Africa, Clinton, GW Bush and B Obama have made goodwill trips there. Trump seems to feel that trips to Canada and Mexico are unwarranted, and would prefer meeting in White House. |
