If Satan's not dead, where is he hiding. You
never hear him mentioned anymore. There
was even a big movie recently called Son of
God, the story of Jesus, and Satan was never
mentioned once. http://time.com/11760/is-satan-dead/

I know he was dying out in sermons in the last
quarter of the 20th century, and now he seems
to have disappeared entirely. He just another
myth, like the god myth, and myths come and
go. But it's curious that Xtions let Satan die, he
was the foe they pitted themselves against. The
fun is gone, there is nobody to fight against
anymore.

I had no idea that LaVey Satanism is atheistic.

"The religion is atheistic, rejecting the existence of supernatural beings, and well as an afterlife. Practitioners do not believe that the character of Satan literally exists and do not worship him. Instead, Satan is viewed as a positive archetype who represents pride, carnality, and enlightenment, and of a cosmos which Satanists perceive to be motivated by a "dark evolutionary force of entropy that permeates all of nature and provides the drive for survival and propagation inherent in all living things"
LaVey was an atheist, rejecting the existence of all gods. Accordingly, LaVey and his Church do not espouse a belief in Satan as an entity who literally exists, and LaVey did not encourage the worship of Satan as a deity. Instead, the use of Satan as a central figure is intentionally symbolic."

So Satan isn't dead at all, he's alive and
well in Satanism. And he's not the bad
guy, he's a positive archetype. I will have
to read more about this.

I always thought it was 'is God dead'... Satan presumeably being not of much interest since Calvin Coolidge reported that the Minister had preached about sin and said he was agin it.

Ira Levin wrote Pray for Rosemary's Baby.... I think it was some movie star that supposedly bore the Devil a son. Mia Farrow?

Up jumped the Devil used to be an expression in Vegas, but I've not heard it in eons.

I guess Satan isn't dead. On an episode
of Modern Family they're being made
godparents of a baby. All the priest
talked about was Satan. Do you renounce
Satan. Do you renounce his evil works.
Do you renounce his empty promises.
It was really kind of creepy.

I remember when I was trying to be a
Christian in the 70's, the group I was
in talked about Satan all the time. They
were so special that Satan was personally
hunting them 24/7. It was all so silly. He
was hiding behind every bush waiting to
tempt them. They were the center of gods
and Satan's universe. Narcissism on parade..
