"Bearing buddy" is a brand, and it's a good one, but there is a better one out there if interested. I looked for a video to link for you but all I found were complete idiots about how to do it, so I quit looking. No wonder these guys lose wheels on the highway. The idea behind the bb is you can grease your bearings without having to use tools other than a grease gun. Handy dandy. But regardless, bearings need lubrication no matter how it gets done. Wow, this looks really interesting Repacking my bearings is a pain. I've never done it. I brought to a mechanic once but I don't think he did it properly I have seen youtube videos but am afraid I will screw things up I am definitely looking into this. petroglyph Member since: Aug 3, 2014 Threads: 25 Posts: 6227 | It's so easy to do, and once you've had them you will always want them. It's so easy, it's silly not to have them. Even moreso on a boat trailer. You do know about cross contamination of grease, I presume? The bb brand has one downfall,,,,that is flinging grease, but the caps stop that from splaying it all over the place when spinning. There is a better brand that doesn't fling the grease if I can think of it. They aren't expensive and easy to install if you want to do it. It just takes a big set of channel lock pliers and a rubber mallet. Don't believe any of these youtube video's that recommended putting in twenty pumps. There is a "full" indicator to tell you when to stop pumping. If done regularly, it only takes 3-7 pumps. Simple. I know some mechanic shops rip customers off on packing. In the 80's I had a VW Rabbit. The bearings on one front wheel were going, you could hear it when I turned the wheel too far left or right. I got a spray can of white grease and tore a hole in the boot and got in there with the spray tube and drove it for another year doing that every couple hundred miles. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Transverse engine [gas] front wheel drive , couldn't hardly get it stuck, could give it a tune up and nearly every thing mechanical could be done without having to take a step. Easy to reach. I got 26 mpg. The diesel model got over 50. That was in 1980. For some reason, that technology isn't available in the US now ? The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |

Yours prolly had a curb weight of 2,100lbs. The "small" Colorado starts at about 5,700. Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |

petroglyph Member since: Aug 3, 2014 Threads: 25 Posts: 6227 | My god, I'd hated to get in a collision in it. It was tiny. I tried towing my first boat with it, a 16ft. Larson fiberglass. Talk about the tail wagging the dog. IDK what a Colorado is? Does it run on a small 4 cylinder diesel engine, like a lot of Euro cars? The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury.
