I'd let the Father enjoy his event with the outpouring of love.

Not too much love for Francis, though.

What you seem to want in God is a superman

No, the god your selling is supposed
to BE a superman. According to you
(and the Bible) god can do everything
from destroying the earth in a flood,
parting the sea, walking on water, even
rising from the dead. Even Superman
himself can't do any of that.

So when challenged as to why god just
stood by and twiddled his thumbs during
the Holocaust, your excuse for him is
he just wants to be our buddy, he can't
really do much except be our Casper
Milquetoast best friend. So again I ask,
what the heck good is he, why bother
with such a weak deity. Why bother with
any deity at all. Quit using a god as an
emotional crutch.

Bob, would you call a friend or perhaps your dog an emotional crutch?

Jesus shows us clearly that He came not to be a distant superman who does not identify with us nor us with Him, but rather He came to share our life, our joys, our suffering, and our pain - even our death. Through this He gives a model to live by in caring for others and gives us hope in His victory over death.

Anyway, I just wanted to say how awesome the opening Mass was today. As far as the eye could see young people praying and singing the Mass. There were flags waving from every country imaginable. It was beautiful, peaceful, fun, prayerful, and a glimpse into what Heaven must be like.

Of course, why do you think people
have dogs. They love us no matter
what and that makes them very
special to us. You have your imaginary
friend as your crutch, he takes the
place of a dog in your life. Kinda sad,
at least my friend is warm and soft
and sleeps in my bed every night.
Yours is long dead and I would think
you could do a little better for yourself
than an urban myth.

So we all need some help through life, I agree. You have chosen a warm fuzzy animal and I have chosen the God of the universe who became one of us, loves us, and desires a real, living, and true relationship with Him. An urban myth who is not real does not bring over a million young people to Karakow in Poland. God is very real and much better than a dog.

You were brainwashed into this decision,
and you're at an event to sustain the
brainwashing. Historical cult behavior,
in the real world it's meaningless.

You think saying something makes it true,
more magical thinking. I hope your dead
friend hanging forever from a Roman cross
keeps you warm at night. The only way it
can really keep you warm is to use it for
firewood, which I heartily recommend.

Nearly 90 years old and still going strong
Yes and although the opera is presented in several languages the Alabama Song is always sung in English.
The Vagabond Opera's performance at the SF Edwardian Ball (Dressed to the Nines) featured Ashia Greshik the Polish seamstress, songstress, actress and dancer. Someone who escaped drab life under communism. This was meant to counter the assertion that Polish Youth were mindless followers. These two sisters learned to sew before they learned to walk. That is individualism, not mindless cultism. The performer in that youtube video never had a singing lesson or an acting lesson in her life yet there she was with Vagabond Opera and later Bison Rouge. Nothing of course will ever surpass Lotte Lenya.

Oh Bob, how I wish you were here. Not only would you see the vibrant faith of over a million young people from every corner of the globe, but you would hear some great preaching. Today Bishop Barron was talking about the martyrdom of the French priest Fr. Jacques and referenced the image of the crucifix and why we use it. I think you would also be in awe of what WYD is and how the Catholic church and only her could hold such an event. The Pope arrived today and from all accounts he was vibrant. We welcome him tomorrow, I'm so excited.

It's disgusting that they refer to a church
started by men, run by one man, overseen
by men, where women aren't allowed to
be in the hierarchy, it's disgusting that you
refer to this body of men as the 'bride' of
Christ. .

"Jesus never told His disciples He would someday be their bride. Paul didn't say we are the bride. In fact, nowhere in scriptures does it ever say Christians are the bride of Christ."

It's a perverted idea thought up by desperate men
who are turned on by some twisted concept that
only they could understand. Women are especially
disgusted by the whole thing, and who can blame
them.

You should have invited him. You guys would be the greatest team since Bert & Ernie.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?
