They are taking as much delight in the mess as the left takes in the car wreck that is the Trump campaign. Trump's folks know that if there's a lot of Bernie fans who stay home, they have a much better chance of winning. And if they can convince a few of them over, all the better.

It's all about knocking the other guy down. We know Trump is lighter on detailed policies (apart from him being 'Very good with the best ideas'). In some ways, he's taking a good tack... a big majority of the people vote for President because they like the candidate, not their policies.

Heinlein once said voting was important. Because while there may not be a candidate you want to vote for, there is always one you want to vote against. This year there is a great bargain. One can cast a vote for Gary Johnson, thus voting against both Trump and Hillary, rather than voting against only Trump or Hillary.
