Do you ever wonder why apples go so well with cinnamon?

Would there be a market for a hybrid apple-cinnamon tree? If someone made one, would the apples taste of cinnamon, or would the bark taste of apples?

Apples do not hybridize well with much and flavor and other characteristics of apples are dependent upon more than just the seeds of the apples.

IF we take the Bible literally, like many seemingly reasonable people do, then all land animals (including insects!) are descended from one breeding pair per species, as implied in the Noah Flood myth. The same myth states there were several human couples, not just one. Therefore humanity would perforce posses the greatest genetic diversity of any known land-dwelling species.

Do you ever wonder anyone would have bothered to test this already?

Do you ever wonder why there are many types of mustard but only one type of ketchup?

This is not strictly true, as ketchup varies between brands, and you can find types with added flavoring, low-sugar, zero-sugar, etc. But by and large there's just one type.

There were three breeding couples after the flood. I think people are genetically diverse compared to say elephants or lions and tigers and bears.

People generally have a broader geographical range. Females are given as gifts to extend a ruler's range even more. Tigers have little incentive to stray away from a place that has both food and female tigers.

If you look into Machine Learning and autonomous classification systems performed solely by algorithms without any examples or instructions you will find that drug sensitivities and genes automatically group into fourteen categories. That is all. And an African male is in the same category genetically as a Finnish female. So diversity to us and to a computer are utterly different concepts.

One interesting project might be to take New Zealand genes and trace back. Most pirates who landed in New Zealand via shipwrecks or lawful capture on the high seas were freed by the US ambassador who found them to have been involuntarily turned into pirates. His sparing of Englishmen accused of piracy probably had a unique effect on the present genetic diversity of New Zealand. As well as on the wine industry there.
