Sally Yates is set to testify before the Senate today. Her testimony is expected to contradict the White House's story on the whole Michael Flynn fiasco...

Based on Donald's tweets this morning, it appears he's sweating bullets...

Trump is insane
Obama warned Trump personally not to hire Flynn
Trump does it anyway
Now Trump is trying to blame Obama
WTF

The more I hear about Flynn, the more this guy disgusts me
Trump actually considered this clown for NSA when he had a for sale sign around his neck.

Golden Boy Trump continues to make history.

Right now, he has the worst disapproval rating of any new Oval Office occupant since Gallup began measuring it decades ago.

But that's not all. His level of disapproval is about as bad as that of Bush the younger in the latter part of his second term. That was when Republican candidates for anything wouldn't be caught dead near him. In fact, Trump has the highest disapproval ratings of anyone except Nixon.

Now, when the best you can say of your term is that you're not as bad as Nixon as his lowest, well, that's not saying much.

Even Rasmussen has his approval in the low 40s, and an astounding low approval index rating of -21

Conservative support for him is no where near universal, either. Here is a conservative, titled "When the World Is Led by a Child":

Not sure if the plumbing is bad but the 'Plumbers' aren't doing their job.

There is a transcript of that conversation.

From the Washington Post's original story:

Quote:
Senior White House officials appeared to recognize quickly that Trump had overstepped and moved to contain the potential fallout. Thomas P. Bossert, assistant to the president for homeland security and counterterrorism, placed calls to the directors of the CIA and the NSA, the services most directly involved in the intelligence-sharing arrangement with the partner.

One of Bossert’s subordinates also called for the problematic portion of Trump’s discussion to be stricken from internal memos and for the full transcript to be limited to a small circle of recipients, efforts to prevent sensitive details from being disseminated further or leaked.

Can the guy at the Oval Office operate without a security clearance?

Seriously, it's high time to figure out a way to get rid of this person. The Republicans should be concerned he may drag their party down with him in the next mid-term elections. Sure, they're 18 months away and that may as well be an eternity in politics.

Here's the thing. Trump's supporters are rabid. Sure. Especially in red states. They don't care that he's a boor and a bigot. We know this. They don't' care he has no respect for the institutions, civil or governmental, of the USA. We know this, too. They don't care he's an incompetent buffoon. Old news, really. But they still believe he will deliver. And we know the status of that, too.

Take the sketch he submitted as a tax plan (a PowerPoint slide is not a plan). There are some good notions there. Simplifying taxes, lowering them, eliminating deductions, lowering the corporate tax rate. That's worth considering.

BUT

But it's worth considering carefully. If you lower the tax rate, tax revenue goes down. This means the deficit, and the debt, go up. It may be true that the economy will grow to an extent that revenue goes up, sure. But that will take time. In the meantime, other factors might cause a downturn in the economy. It would be best to lower taxes by stages, therefore, rather than all at once.

Point is unless he can deliver on better wages and/or purchasing power to the middle class, his supporters will eventually dump him.

Other promises he made which may be appealing to his base won't ever be fulfilled. No wall will go up, Mexico won't pay a penny of US border security, no Muslim ban will ever be enacted, NAFTA is too valuable to the US to do away with (and whatever renegotiations do happen will both be length ad rather technical).

So cut your losses and let the clown go. You should have done it long ago.

The Democrats would do well to promote the inevitable impeachment as a win for America, rather than as a partisan thing. That way they'll get the needed support from the GOP when it matters. No minority in any legislature has ever, or will ever, impeach anyone.
