Normally you need to take these gossipy palace intrigue articles with a grain of salt. Nothing more than rumors.

That said, the article you linked to was written by Gabriel Sherman, whose reporting tends to be well-sourced and reliable. This is extremely worrisome.

2) If trump doesn't want the media to use his statements against him, then Le Petit Poseur ought to stop making such statements.

Wouldn't it be funny if Corker winds up with the GOP presidential nomination in 2020?

I've no idea if he plans to run. But given Trump's current numbers, it's almost a given he'll be challenged within "his" party next cycle. (BTW, no sitting president in modern times has won the general election when challenged from within; see Ford, Carter and Bush the elder).
