Yup.

And things have changed. Now thanks to Donald and his violent white nationalist supporters, the GOP and KKK are attached at the hip.
Do you know any white nation supporters? Seems to me like you are just trying to stir poop.

You can't honestly blame Trump for a fringe hate group that's been around for dozens of years prior to this administration. For all the things that are real that the Democrats could easily nail him on, they are silent. But this is what you go with? That's so silly it doesn't deserve acknowledgement.

In an op-ed about charlatan Trump's habit of conning gullible marks, an opinion writer at Bloomberg shared an amusing excerpt about his casino business from a 1990 Larry King interview:

Quote: Bloomberg
When Trump has panicked in his business and public life in the past he’s latched on to the zany to try to dig his way out. For example, after larding his Atlantic City casino companies with too much debt, and overspending to build the biggest of them, the Taj Mahal, Trump needed the Taj to rake in impossible sums to avoid bankruptcy. That didn’t happen and in some of the earliest interviews about the mega-casino’s prospects, Trump lied – in deliciously outré ways – about what ailed it as he tried to stave off the inevitable financial catastrophe.

Trump told a TV interviewer, Larry King, that slot machines at the Taj weren’t taking in as much money as expected because overly enthusiastic gamblers had jammed too many quarters in them too quickly and had broken them.

“So what, it blew out the slots, literally?” King asked.

“They blew apart,” Trump responded.

“It would be, like, too much use?”

“They were virtually on fire.”

We had too many customers! We had to file for bankruptcy! The craps tables collapsed into a pile of rubble from the weight of all the chips! The roulette wheel balls disintegrated into dust from being overused! At the blackjack tables, the decks of cards caught on fire from being dealt too fast! We had to close the place, it was just too unsafe.

I don't believe that. You wouldn't be here and neither would any of us.

Donny is having a Twitter meltdown over China.

Quote:
“Our great American companies are hereby ordered to immediately start looking for an alternative to China, including bringing our companies HOME and making your products in the USA. I will be responding to China’s Tariffs this afternoon. This is a GREAT opportunity for the United States. Also, I am ordering all carriers, including Fed Ex, Amazon, UPS and the Post Office, to SEARCH FOR & REFUSE all deliveries of Fentanyl from China (or anywhere else!).”

Unclear why he thinks he can just order American companies to do his bidding. Maybe he is just that stupid.

As Ronald Reagan famously said, "We need more government officials to issue orders to private companies."

Trump's trade war caused China to introduce 25% retaliatory tariffs on US agricultural products, which makes those products more expensive for Chinese importers.

Quote: CNBC
“It’s really, really getting bad out here,” said Bob Kuylen, who’s farmed for 35 years in North Dakota.

“Trump is ruining our markets. No one is buying our product no more, and we have no markets no more.”

Agriculture exports to China dropped by more than half last year. In 2017, China imported $19.5 billion in agricultural goods, making it the second-largest buyer overall for American farmers. In 2018, that dropped to $9.2 billion as the trade war escalated, according to the United States Department of Agriculture.

Exports to China were down by a further $1.3 billion during the first half of this year.

According to the American Farm Bureau, farming bankruptcies in the 12 months through June (roughly in line with the first year of the trade war) were up 13% from the previous year.

In a Farm Journal Pulse survey of 1,153 farmers on Friday, 71% said they still supported the president. But the number of farmers who strongly approved of the president fell by 10 percentage points, to 43%, from a survey in early July.

Madeleine Westerhout, the president’s personal assistant, was said to have indiscreetly shared details about the president’s family and the Oval Office operations she was part of during a recent off-the-record dinner with journalists.

Ms. Westerhout’s abrupt and unexpected departure came after Mr. Trump learned on Thursday that she had indiscreetly shared details about his family and the Oval Office operations she was part of during a recent off-the-record dinner with reporters staying at hotels near Bedminster, N.J., during the president’s working vacation, according to one of the people, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss White House personnel issues.

The breach of trust meant immediate action: Ms. Westerhout, one of the people familiar with her departure said, was immediately considered a “separated employee” and would not be allowed to return to the White House on Friday.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment. Ms. Westerhout did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.
