He lied. That is the scandal here. If he "didn't remember" conversations that occurred a couple of months ago - well clearly his mind is going and he is not fit to be AG.

But to go back to an earlier point: if all these conversations with Russians are innocent and/or proper, why are so many officials in this administration trying to cover them up?

The problem is a senator should know better than to lie under oath. Doubly so in front of a Senate committee while he's the attorney general nominee.
