If you believe that video I have bridge for sale. Of course you are open flame burning an oil based product with no venting can't be any issues with that.

We discussed this technique earlier on this forum. I would have to search for it. With no particular surprise the conclusion is that the the law of conservation of energy is still valid. The law states that the total energy of an isolated system remains constant; it is said to be conserved over time. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed; rather, it transforms from one form to another.

A candle can make a difference to the temperature in a tent in the winter but the tents that can be used in extreme conditions come with a hanger for a candle lantern and a vent. You still need winter clothes on or in your sleeping bag if it is actually cold outside.

A candle make a real difference in a snow cave, yes I have dug and slept in a snow cave, but you have several feet of insulating snow above you. I was able to sit in a T-shirt once it warmed up. Of course your body is adding significant heat as well

I am sure a candle makes a big difference in those conditions

But a personal heater that plugs into a USB port and costs about 15 cents for roughly 6 hours must be much safer than burning candles

USB 3.1 can put out 3 amps and not many devices have it yet. USB is 5 volts. 3a X 5v = 15 watts this doesn't seem like much heat and certainly wouldn't cost 15 cents what do the specs say they it will output?

Quick search suggests one tea light will produce 30W per hour of heat energy. So four = 120W. His computer probably pumps out a similar amount of heat energy as well.

Portable heater offers 200 watts of warmth

I figured that 6 hours * 200 watts is about 15 cents.
