I saw I Love Lucy in reruns because I was a kid and there were only 2 channels until 1962, when our city finally got ABC. I thought she was funny when I was 8, what did I know. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

We had just 2 UHF channels to choose from to watch re-runs. Would watch them after I walked home from school in the snow in my bare feet. There was always something on that I preferred to watch than her shows. The President is a fink. |

What was the new name going to be. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I Love Lucy goes without saying. I think you're forgetting The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour. Somebody might bring up Make Room for Daddy. I never watched that show, so can't comment if she was a star, but I meant to phrase my question as TV shows with "Lucy" in the title. I knew Oscar Brodney, although not very well, who was a joke writer for Lucille Ball. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

Television's first prime time network color series was The Marriage, an 8 episode sitcom broadcast live by NBC in the summer of 1954, but other than this early experiment it was considered a waste to spend that kind of money on sitcoms. Bonanza had begun color episodes on September 12, 1959. The first episode of Disney Wonderful World of Color was broadcast on September 24, 1961. More typical of a sitcom was "I Dream of Jeannie" which aired its first color episode at the start of Season 2 on September 12, 1966. Lucy Ricardo was a guest character on only one episode of Make Room for Daddy (which was filmed at Desilu studios). |
