I probably watched every episode Mon thru Fri syndicated show in the 70's I enjoyed it A comedy version of the Great Escape It was funny. I laughed as a kid How Bob Crane died, now that's pretty bizarre. Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

I admit nothing. NOTHING! :) I loved that show, even dubbed. Though it was much better in the original German-accented English. What's not to love about a show that pokes fun at the Nazis? Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

Pacomartin Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 1068 Posts: 12569 | Since we only has one person try and guess the names of all 51 TV series, we should pare the list down to the 17 characters he didn't know or got wrong. We will also pare down the list of years and actors. Obviously this solution is easy with a search engine. At least one show received huge accolades critically, but it ran for only 26 episodes. I actually don't think anyone can get all 17 correct. Reference Number - Character 39 Jane Hathaway 51 Buddy Sorrell 16 Lilly Harper 24 Sgt. Andy Sipowicz 28 Steve Urkel 31 Frank Pembleton 38 Hawk 43 Bill Bittinger 44 Adam 46 Jane Tennison 48 Douglas Wambaugh 49 Miles Drentell 50 Elliot Carlin 23 Maynard G. Krebs - WRONG 29 Edina Monsoon - WRONG 45 David Addison Jr. - WRONG 40 Arthur - WRONG (This character is difficult in my opinion) Year and Actor 1959 Bob Denver 1961 Morey Amsterdam 1962 Nancy Kulp 1972 Jack Riley 1983 Dabney Coleman 1985 Avery Brooks 1985 Bruce Willis 1989 Jaleel White 1990 Adam Arkin 1991 Helen Mirren 1991 Regina Taylor 1992 Fyvush Finkel 1992 Jennifer Saunders 1992 Rip Torn 1993 Andre Braugher 1993 Dennis Franz 1999 David Clennon |

Correct. Last hint : I've combined the character, the year the series began and the actor. All that remains is to guess the name of the series. Numbers 16, 29, 43 and 46 are particularly difficult because they have so few episodes Reference Number - Character - year - actress 23 Maynard G. Krebs - 1959 Bob Denver (147 episodes) 51 Buddy Sorrell - 1961 Morey Amsterdam (158 episodes + 1 reunion special ) 39 Jane Hathaway - 1962 Nancy Kulp (274 episodes) 50 Elliot Carlin - 1972 Jack Riley (142 episodes) 45 David Addison Jr. - 1985 Bruce Willis 38 Hawk - 1985 Avery Brooks (66 episodes, and 4 TV movies, 13 episodes in spin-off) 28 Steve Urkel - 1989 Jaleel White 44 Adam - 1990 Adam Arkin (110 episodes) 40 Arthur - 1992 Rip Torn (89 episodes) 48 Douglas Wambaugh - 1992 Fyvush Finkel 24 Sgt. Andy Sipowicz -1993 Dennis Franz 31 Frank Pembleton - 1993 Andre Braugher 49 Miles Drentell - 1999 David Clennon 16 Lilly Harper -1991 Regina Taylor (episodes 38 + TV movie) 29 Edina Monsoon - 1992 Jennifer Saunders (39 episodes) 43 Bill Bittinger 1983 - Dabney Coleman (26 episodes) 46 Jane Tennison - 1991 Helen Mirren (15 episodes) Like I said earlier, you would have to be a serious fan of television to get all of these correct. |

Andy Sipowicz -- NYPD Blue 28 Steve Urkel -- Family Matters 31 Frank Pembleton -- Homicide (Life on the Streets) 44 Adam -- This is probably wrong but Mary married an "Adam" on Little House on the Prairie. 40 Arthur - WRONG (This character is difficult in my opinion) -- Probably wrong again, but I seem to recall an Arthur being mentioned on Golden Girls. Reference Number - Character - year - actress 23 Maynard G. Krebs - 1959 Bob Denver (147 episodes) - "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis"? There was a bit on Bob Denver on 'Through the Decades" the other night. 51 Buddy Sorrell - 1961 Morey Amsterdam (158 episodes + 1 reunion special ) - "The Dick Van Dyke Show?" 45 David Addison Jr. - 1985 Bruce Willis - "Moonlighting"? I can't stand the actress in that show, so didn't watch it. 38 Hawk - 1985 Avery Brooks (66 episodes, and 4 TV movies, 13 episodes in spin-off) - "Spencer for Hire"/and then he had his own show which I think was called "Hawk" 28 Steve Urkel - 1989 Jaleel White - I know the character, but couldn't remember the name of the show as I wasn't a fan. 48 Douglas Wambaugh - 1992 Fyvush Finkel - The name sounds familiar, but I keep thinking of Olympic athlete Abby Wambaugh. 24 Sgt. Andy Sipowicz -1993 Dennis Franz - "Hill St. Blues"? He was a detective? I think he got killed off at some point. Still No Clue: 39 Jane Hathaway - 1962 Nancy Kulp (274 episodes) - The names sound familiar, but it's not coming to me. 31 Frank Pembleton - 1993 Andre Braugher 49 Miles Drentell - 1999 David Clennon 16 Lilly Harper -1991 Regina Taylor (episodes 38 + TV movie) 29 Edina Monsoon - 1992 Jennifer Saunders (39 episodes) 43 Bill Bittinger 1983 - Dabney Coleman (26 episodes) 46 Jane Tennison - 1991 Helen Mirren (15 episodes) 50 Elliot Carlin - 1972 Jack Riley (142 episodes) - 44 Adam - 1990 Adam Arkin (110 episodes) 40 Arthur - 1992 Rip Torn (89 episodes) - Is this the animated squirrel boy on the PBS children's show? |

Pacomartin Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 1068 Posts: 12569 | Ayecarumba got 4 more #23, #51, #45, #38 The character of "Miss Jane Hathaway" has to be one of the most often viewed in TV history. Edina Monsoon was a completely over the top longtime recurring character from a British TV series which was widely shown in the USA. |
