Is the "1792" date to commemorate the French Revolution, or the founding of the US Mint?

Lady liberty? Are you talking about the statue of liberty lady?

Yes indeed, this coin depicting Lady Liberty has a long tradition, you can Google for pics. Here's the 2015 iteration :

Of course, the information that the new coin was not a US mint coin is completely made up and false.

It does commemorate the founding of the US mint, a little too self-congratulatory for my taste. But the coin is still cool.

The French Revolution started in 1789.

This is not a US mint coin, who cares what's on it.
A black woman or Mickey Mouse.
On the contrary, this IS a US minted coin. The W indicates that it was minted at West Point, which where all US gold coins are minted.

I meant it's not a US coin for circulation. It's
a collectible, like a Beanie Baby. Who cares
who's pic is on it.

Who cares? It is a decent looking coin. They can put whoever they want on non-currency issues.

That's my point. Cayanero says all the racists
will be up in arms over it. He doesn't get
America, he believes all the German propaganda,
that we're a boiling pot of racial tension about
to explode. The Uder I took home the other
night had a black driver, we had a good conversation
about road resurfacing. We didn't try to kill
each other even once.
