Undercover Investigation Exposes Groups Plotting Criminal Activity at Trump Inauguration

Lefties have lost their minds, they're
becoming terrorists. What's wrong
with these people.

I'm not quite sure why we are talking about this in a thread called "Inauguration" it seems dark and ominous.

Golden Shower Boy gets inaugurated this week. If that's not dark an ominous, nothing else is either.

This is the comedy act Trump signed for
the inauguration. Should be pretty funny.

"Michael Moore, Alec Baldwin and Mark Ruffalo are joining New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and MSNBC anchor Al Sharpton to lead a protest rally in New York City on the eve of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration."

Do you think he is going to pay people to cheer at his innaguration like he did at his press conference?

I guess the contention here would be that the PEOTUS was trying to intimidate journalists by having staffers cheer and jeer him. I get it; I don't necessarily like it...but it isn't the end of the world. If journalists simply chose to do their job--reporters report stories fairly and accurately without bias and opinion folks present opinions--they can overcome anything Trump (or anyone else) can throw at them. Any journalistic institution that can't be accused of "fake news" and that reports factually on every issue will survive and possibly even thrive.

The press has played lap dog to Obama and his ilk for years now. How many hard-hitting mainstream stories were there about the problems immediately recognized in Obamacare? How many stories were reported about the totally undeserved Nobel Peace Prize and the subsequent foreign policy disaster Obama presided over? How about Obama's inability to hold a news conference and answer more than 8-10 questions? How many called Hillary out for being under fire when landing once, as she claimed?

They didn't care what he did. Now no one cares what they say.

The press brought it upon themselves. Dan Rather and Brian Williams faked news; they are still heard from. They should be distant afterthoughts to the mainstream media.

Report on Trump. Hard. not on what he tweets. Not on his skin color. Ask the tough question; tear into the answer. Tell people when he doesn't answer. Report on what he is doing as President. Give unbiased analysis of the impact of his polices.

Stop attacking. It won't work.

Start reporting. It could totally derail him if he is anywhere close to as bad as many think he will be.

...but...you'll have to actually report when he does good, too...

Nah, the press of today can't do any of that.

I don't think he was trying to intimidate journalists, I think he was trying to manipulate the press into reporting that his statements were received well and enthusiastically by the general public in the audience. It could also influence the non-paid members of the audience, as someone is more likely to react and demonstrate like other people are.

I do hope that reporters will start challenging all politicians, not just Trump, more. Fact check their statements. Call them out on their lies. Stop giving them passes for avoiding a question.

Look what else happened at the press conference - he pulled out stacks and stacks of documents. No one was allowed to even look at them. The excuse was that they were "company documents" but since no one was even allowed to see one printed page or one signature, people are free to speculate that they were just blank pieces of paper.

Trump has a damaged relationship with the press. There is no trust. From what he has already done and tried to do (this isn't the first time he was accused of having paid supporters in the audience to cheer), it is going to be very difficult to get them to report the "good things" he does readily, before they check them first, and then it will look like they are dragging their feet.

The press chose to "damage" their relationship with Trump from the start. They had always chosen sides, though since the 1990s it got progressively worse to the point journalism died in 2008 with the fawning coverage of Obama to the point the had a little email list of how to guide coverage away from things that might damage him. At this point it is not on Trump or any other non liberal to "reach out" to the press. It is on the press to act like more like reporters and less like party hacks pushing an agenda.
The President is a fink.

He doesn't need to reach out - he needs to stop lying. He won't get respect if he doesn't act with integrity.
